12Volt Audio - Replacement Sub Question

I just purchased and installed a Taylor Audio sub, and have a question...his pictures show a JBL sub and mine came with a Rockford Fosgate Sub...has anybody else purchased lately and had their box come with something other than the JBL sub pictured on the 12volt website?

 

You could reach out to James and see what he says about it. I'd imagine that he fond a sub that preforms better than the jbl one.

 

I've got a voicemail into him, but I wanted to check with you folks at the same time...the reason I ask is the Rockford Fosgate R2 (that I have in my box) specs out the same as the JBL, but the claims that the sub delivers 2x more bass is not quite as expected...it's quieter than the Stock Sub box, so I wanted to see if anybody else is experiencing similar results...

 

Something isn't right.
Can you see that the speaker is moving? If you have a digital multimeter, go put it on the ohms reading and plug it into the terminals on the box (everything off, key out of ignition). It should match what the sub is wired for (2, 4, or 8ohm....).

 

Yeah, the speaker is moving but not much...I'll go throw a multimeter on it and see what it shows..

 

to answer your question, everything that i discussed with him was sent to me exactly but knowing their level of service likely gave you something equal or equivalent. would have been best to notify customer. possibly an oversight, they're super busy. not an excuse tho. always good to set proper expectations with customers which he has a history of doing. good luck.

 

Ok - I spoke with James - that dude's a pro...so apparently the 2020's changed the amps and they dropped the wattage...he swapped to a nicer speaker with the RF but, it does requirement a bit more push from the amp...he's going to send me out a replacement and life should be good...so he's a stand up guy and taking care of the issue...thanks for the input...

 

Just hooked up an AMP and solved all my problems...this thing Bumps Now!
