    So I am adding the following to the truck;

    1. Auburn LSD
    2. 4:88 Nitro Gears (2014 RWD/2WD Street king)
    3. Magnuson Supercharger
I am getting the above parts myself thru my links :spending:

I have one guy who installs superchargers and gears all day long on Tundras is quoting me $2,000. According to him its a 14 hour job.

The other guy is quoting me $1,000. He hasn't done any Tundras yet but has done gears on Fords/GM/Dodge. He is a Diesel mechanic and installs Turbo and supercharger on trucks and German cars. According to him, there is more labor involved with gear install on Tundra as compared to big 3. He thinks gears are little harder but supercharger is simple.

I got some other quotes including Toyota dealer but I don't even wanna go there. I read/reviewed and digested the install instructions my self a few times and it doesn't seem that hard.

What do you guys think? Should I go with $1,000 vs. $2,000? Is it a complicated process to do gears and supercharger. Going with $1,000 automatically generates another $1,000 for some Raptor Beater mods that I have been Planning.

Which one will backup their work and warranty it if it fails?

Can you get ahold of the $2k guys other customers and ask if they had problems or think they overpaid?

I trust both except 2k guy is an expert when it comes to Toyota. They both will backup their work.

I'd go with the expert but ask if he would do it for 1500.

Have a look at @4Runner posts about the SC. It's not a question of plugging it all in and away we go. Seems like a protracted tune and set up process.

As for gears, I did some once in an old car... ballache to get right and very manufacturer dependant on the degree of ache.

For me, I'd go with the guy who has the most experience installing your SC and your gears into your kinda truck.

Guess you guys are correct. I will keep this truck for a long long time so guess that extra $1,000 will pay off.

    Two great surgeons.

    Man needs knee replacement.

One surgeon specializes in knee replacement.

One surgeon specializes in general orthopedic surgery. He is 1000.00 cheaper but has great reviews. You’re his first knee replacement.

    Who you going with?

Shouldn't even be a question. Go with the proven Toyota Tech. Or you might be spending more than 1k when its all said and done. Have you seen what the going rate is for a 3ur-Fe? And there aren't many wrecked 5.7's with good motors in the salvage yard, should your hook up man skimp on Q/C. And I'm not even gonna start on the rear end...

Why does the diesel guy say its more labor? The whole 3rd member drops out on a toyota vs having to work on it on a domestic where the bearings are on the axle housing.

I would take the re-gearing to a specialist, there is more then just taking off the old gears/differential and putting a new one on. You have to make sure the clearances ( pinion preload and gear clearance) are correct else you will have noise and/or the pinion doesn't mesh with the ring correctly and will eat your gears. With a supercharger, which one is going to install a spacer instead of using a crush sleeve for your pinion?

Which guy has more experience with the tuner that comes with the magnuson? Who can flash the bully dog tuner to your ecu correctly?

You are 2wd, are you making a 'bro truck' and lifting it with bigger tires? A supercharger even with auburn lsd is mostly traction limited, 4.88 gears will give you even less traction off the line. For reference a supercharged stock 4.30 will light up the tires in 1st and 2nd gear on stock 275 65 18 AT tires.
Planning on running slicks or 35in tires?
