Hello I have an 08 Tundra that has been make a noise. So I had the all the pulleys replaced, water pump and alternator replaced thinks this is the sound, but didn't fix it. So I just took it to a Toyota dealership to see if they could figure it out. They told these nothing wrong with it. It makes a noise that sounds like chain hitting together them quits. It very loud, has anyone else heard this or had this happen to there truck.

My 2007 5.7 is just about to hit 300,000 miles, and it sounds like a diesel clacking & ticking.
It runs great, no codes, no issues, just noisy.

Pour about 1/4 of a can of Seafoam into the engine oil and see if it goes away.

Sounds like Timing Chain Tensioner. If the noise only happens when you first start the truck then my guess would be that. Somewhat common component that needs to be replaced as the mileage increases on the motor.

I asked if it could be the timing chain tensioners and they said they've never had any issues with them. It doesn't make the noise often just on occasions when starting up I also get a squeal noise from it as well when it first starts doing that noise.

Mine squeals upon start up, especially when it's been wet outside. Usually it goes away after a few seconds but lately it's been several minutes before it goes away. 217.5K miles on a 2010 5.7L

I had the same issue in 2017 when it was really damp & foggy, but it just went away later that year and never came back.

If it's a squeal then my bet is serpentine belt. If it's a clunky chain like noise then timing chain.
