Could someone please provide me with the pinout on the backup camera harness located by the spare tire. 07 Tundra
Mine is a white plug with 4 wires. 1 red, 1 white and 2 black.(2 rows)
I have found conflicting information on the web. Some forums say the red is the power and other post say the red is the video +. Some say the white is ground and others say it is video + and others say video -. Some forums say one of the black wires is power and the other black wire is video + or video -. Other forum posts say they are both ground or negative. Could someone please clear up this confusion for me.

Assuming you are running it to your rearview mirror, here's the wire diagram:

I’m having issues with an eBay purchased Rostra camera I purchased for my 2011 Tundra.

My adapter harness is setup such that pins 1 and 3 are common ground, pin 2 is battery (I think) and pin 4 is signal, but that doesn’t match what’s shown in the wiring diagram.

To complicate matters, it looks like the connector on the truck my be wrong. Pin 1 is white, 2&3 are black (or blue), and pin 4 is red, which is backwards to the way the wiring diagram says it should be.

Thanks for that. I hadn't seen that thread yet. I'm using the rearview monitor for this. I considered using a headunit monitor, but figured I'd have fewer problems with the rearview. LOL.

When I put it in reverse, the rearview turns blue for a few seconds, probably waiting to acquire a video signal. After 2-3 seconds, it shuts off.

I tried hacking a known good camera into the Rostra connector, but that didn't work either.

I guess the photo descriptions aren't posted... For the Rostra camera connector photo, only the top three holes are used. 1 o'clock position is common ground (wired to pins 1 and 3 on the toyota connector), 6 o'clock is the power (wired to pin 4), and 11 o'clock is signal (wired to pin 2), which I'm almost certain is not correct.

I learnt one thing from this

The rearview Mirror send the signal to activate the tailgate camera. The signal is not sitting waiting and operated when put in reverse.

That’s why technician tapped into reverse light, and splice into camera wiring.

That’s the only way he could get signal to HU.

    What I don’t understand
If the rearview Mirror is plugged to harness above in the ceiling, and tailgated camera plugged into harness by spare tire, why aren’t you getting an active view?

Are you doing something different? Are you plugging to the correct harness by spare tire? There’s two open harness back there, well in my 08 there is ......

Hmm... Good question. I didn't look for another connector back there. I only saw the one, but that doesn't mean there isn't another hiding somewhere.

I really just wanted a plug and play setup, so that's what I ordered. When it didn't work, I assumed bad camera, bad connector, or missing fuse.

I'll get under there tonight and see if there's another connector I missed. It could be that simple, I suppose.
