it works great just have to have some patience and fill all the gaps, toyota didnt do us any favors with the design of the tailgate, but it can be done.

On a positive note values have risen again slightly of late. My low miles 22 had broken under the $37k mark on KBB last fall and with a Carvana quote. It's now closing in on.$40k with KBB

:eek2: That is horrendous, I'd be buying an SUV if my bed looked like that.

Just a part of life in the country. I don't think the average weekend camping warrior understands what it's like to live and drive on dusty dirt roads every day.

ya, dust gets everywhere on those roads, lol.

part of my home buying out here was I had to have paved roads to my house, lord knows there is enough dust out here anyways, dont need more

Part of my criteria for buying our place was I had to be able to step out my back door and bow hunt deer and turkeys on my property. Around here you don't find that off of pavement too often.

On the bright side, neither of us has to worry about rust.

I had to Google that, then immediately recognized it from our Florida trips. Sanibel Island is like the shelling capital of world. They spread that stuff on any non-paved road or driveway down there. You're right it gets very dusty. It seems to drain well and never gets too muddy, though.

I'm quoting this so I have it bookmarked. I'm getting a GFC on the Ram in June and I wouldn't mind not getting a mess of dust in the bed to keep my camping stuff cleaner.

We use ProtonMail based in Switzerland and one of their features is to create throw away email aliases. They have been a godsend when contacting auto dealers about a vehicle etc. As said dealers are relentless in spamming you for months and never honor your request to be removed.

I now use these aliases for any website that I don't want to have my real email address. The alias forwards to your real address but the sender never knows who you are. When the spam starts, you just disable the alias or delete it. It's a simple 2 click process to create a new one if needed.

I used to maintain my own "throw away" e-mail address that I would use in the same way but it became a pain to manage. Create your 2nd email address with your provider and make it very generic, forward it to your main email *only* when you want an e-mail from one of these sites. As soon as you get your response, turn off forwarding. Go into that actual mail account occasionally to delete all the spam. These aliases work so much better.

What are you complaining about. That doesn't look bad...

I would retry the seal kit again.

    LOL..

Yeah, despite @Breathing Borla's review, that Amazon kit certainly doesn't make the bed dust-proof, at least for our next level dust. It might reduce it 25-30% when all the pieces are in place and the rubber is fresh. Maybe.

I think the guy in the pool noodle video hit the nail on the head. The tailgate isn't the only source for dust in the bed. It also travels up from the wheels in-between the side rail panels, then into the bed. I tested that theory by blowing compressed air up thru the wheel wells. Dust came boiling out of the exact areas pool noodle boy said it would. Those areas are a much trickier place to seal off.

In the end, it's just dust, and it's why I have a good power-washer.

Why would I be kidding? Did you watch the video and take note of where the guy used the pool noodles and why? If not, here it is again. He's spot on.

No I didn't watch the video nor will I. It's the bed of a truck not a wafer fab clean room. And a gown man making dust farts with an air hose and posting often about is stranger yet.

I've got whatever the Toyota 4 panel tonneau is. I throw all the family crap in there for vacation and it works fine.

Cool. Whatever works for you. Several of us are concerned about keeping the bed of our trucks more dust free. So feel free to step away from the conversation.

My quote this AM is $48K for an outright buy and $49K if I trade.
I paid $63K 3 years ago. That's pretty good in my book.

How many miles on your truck? And were you honest about the condition? I admitted to a few minor scratches/chips, pits in the windshield, and gave my truck a "Pretty Great" rating for overall condition, but not "Like new". The only option I've added is the tonneau cover.

I also wonder if my remote location brings the value down some. I don't consider almost 31% depreciation in less than 3 years and 33K miles very good for a Tundra.

I’m tight on time. I’ll have carvana pick it up by the Wednesday deadline.
Go forward is a high end SUV.
For a truck, Ive always wanted a regular cab short bed. I’ll start looking at the auctions for one that someone had as a hobby.
That’s the plan as of 12:30EDT anyways.

I always thought a regular cab short bed tundra 5.7 with the TRD charger would have been fun, HA
