Apologies if this has been asked/answered on here, but my Tundra’s hood has taken a beating from acorns and branches this fall and the quote for paint-less dent repair was about $1500 for the hood and acorn dents on the roof. Am I better off replacing the hood, and is it even an option to get them paint matched from Toyota, or would a body shop have to paint it?

I’ve been looking for a pro or sport hood with the scoop for my mgm. That’s a more widely used color and they don’t have paint matched hood factory only through their contractors maybe that the dealer uses. Pointless will be cheaper than buying a replacement hood. Replacement even oem one will not be completely straight they’ll have to body work it prime it paint it then fit it to your truck. The labor hours will be expensive. Usually 100_175 a hour out here plus the hood won’t be cheap.

    at least in my experience

That makes sense. Appreciate the response. Sounds like paint-less it is then. Hope you find one that works for your truck. Maybe you could just add a scoop? I feel like I’ve seen posts of guys on here doing that.

My 08 Tacoma hood has the clear coat failing, no dents or scratches and they want $2400 to redo it.

I would be putting a chainsaw to work and removing the source of the problem before fixing the hood.
