In all seriousness, welcome to the forum. Your bio says you have an '05 limited, I assume you already have fog lights in there? Are you looking to upgrade them or just replace them?

No. I don't take barking orders from new people I've never seen, didn't bother to introduce themselves, and show expectation of service.

I'm just amazed at the climbing ability of your truck. Must have taken some skill to get in that perch perfectly. I'm sure there is a lot of pressure on you to leave your truck there.

I don't mind the round ones on mine. I can't recall what bulbs are in there but they do light up well and fill the close area where my projectors don't. Maybe hard to tell here but from the driver seat they add better color and visibility.

It should be "new guy demanding answers without context or manners". I like to think we're generally welcoming as long as new members follow the basic rules of civil discourse.

I think that's just it - the 'one and done' crowd is super strong in this subforum. If you go back 10 pages worth of threads, it'll probably average 2-3 on each page with people coming here with X/Y/Z problem or wanting to do A/B/C thing but are too damn lazy to do the research or pay for professional help.

Instead, they ask, the 'regulars' around here answer, 50%+ of the time I know we get it right the 1st time, and at least 50% of the time, one of two things happen: Either (A) they don't even have the courtesy to reply back to say "yep, this fixed it!" or even "thanks" sometimes. Then we literally never see them again.

It's not like this is unique on this specific subforum or group of forums, it happens at every enthusiast forum out there. Frankly, a number of those folks drive-by post across multiple different forums, go have a 6 pack, and come back later to see what's on the trot lines they set at those forums.

Generally speaking, I think most of us are nice and will share what I'd call "common netiquette" with the newbies => "common netiquette" just being generally common-sense etiquette on the internet. Then we give them the answer they're hunting for, or point them in the right direction, as it should be.

I'm shocked in today's world it's not blatantly obvious you don't just barge into an enthusiast forum with ZERO introduction, and post asking for things. It doesn't get more lazy-beggar than that. People HATE when they get panhandled similarly on the street - "Spare any change? Bum a smoke?" - so why would you do it online?

Bolded/italicized that one point for emphasis. I admit, that's one of my pet peeves. You're making zero effort, posting three words in the format of a Google search term, it's not even a complete sentence, and you expect anyone to take that seriously and reply with any effort or substance at all?

If you can't make the effort to give us a complete sentence, why should anyone here bother with putting in any effort greater than what you chose to? Why not just post that in Google and see what you get? Or into the Search box at the top of this subforum? It's not that complicated.

But no. No dice. You expect us to do the legwork. Again. It's internet panhandling at best.

Maybe we need an always-on-top "super sticky" on this subforum for "Introductions and answers to the most common questions". I think that would at least reduce the drive-by panhandling by half.
