currently I have a 2013 base model tundra 4x2 crew max with a v. All I have on it right now is a leveling kit. What I am wanting is a 10 second truck this is going to be a project that I’ll do over the next couple years. I’m looking into getting a supercharger, intake, exhaust, lowering kit, and a turbo down the road. I’m looking for any and all input any of you may have or if anyone has done or seen this maybe some pictures to help me see what it may look like in the end would be appreciated.

It will be a while before I get going. I won’t be starting for another 3-4 months.
Sorry I forgot to mention I’m in California and after talking to a few people about it and the stupid laws out here that are going into effect are affecting which route I’m going. While I want it to be fast I’m still wanting it street legal. I’m not sure as to which would give me a bigger headache at the dmv or if I wouldn’t have problems at all.

I’ll get ahold of him. Thanks.

    Twincharger. Best of both worlds.

Google BRX Tundra. I believe he is down in the 11.7 1320’ times. He isn’t on stock internals anymore either. I remember watching a YouTube video with a twin turbo Tundra putting out over 1000 hp. If you can grab traction, that might put you into the 10’s.

    Thanks for the mentions guys.

10sec and street legal and tundra all in the same sentence.

We just need to change strategy a tiny bit.

Save $$ on the turbo. And put the extra onto a badass fuel system and huge staged nitrous set up that is hidden!!

Please feel free to call to lock around ideas.

10 seconds is really fast in the quarter. Street legal 10 second tundra is pretty much impossible. Cheap, fast, or reliable. You can only have 2 out of the 3. Just my .02

Uh, good luck man. You're starting on a heavy platform so you're going to need to throw a ton of money into it to get it into the 10's. I'm not even sure the engine can handle the amount of power you're going to need TBH. Not sure why you're going to try and fiddle with both a turbo and supercharger either. It can be done, but it's a huge PITA and not worth the time nor money. A better bet would be twin turbos. And you want it street legal in CA? Yeah.... I think you need to rethink this build.

This. I'm not sure if OP realizes how fast a 10 second quarter mile really is. It might be possible in a single cab, but a crew max... I don't mean to be a wet blanket but I don't see it happening. A 10 second Tundra will end up looking like a windshield and driver's seat with no other sheet metal or interior left on the truck. The 2wd is also going to make it hard to achieve. Just being realistic. Now, if you wanted to get into the low 12's you might be able to and that is STUPID fast for a vehicle the size of a crew max.

I think you all are putting to much focus on the shopping list. That’s not a set it stone list it’s a starting point. Regardless i get it a few of you think it’s impossible that’s fine. I just want to hear from people that can put me on the track to making this a reality.

Actually I do. If that is a option I have a few military buddies that can do it for me. I’m willing to explore all routes and possibilities.

Depending on how deep your pockets are, anything is possible.

At one of the custom diesel performance shops I worked at, we had a saying or two:

“Pay to play” or “how fast do you wanna go? How much can you invest?”

We had $30K motor builds, 10k trans builds, and trucks that were at 700+HP and 1200+ lbs of TQ.

Now diesels are rolling tripple turbos. I would drive my buddies 740hp/1400tq Dodge and that thing was stupid fast. Funny, my stock 434 hp LS3 Corvette would walk away from him. Power to weight ratio. We calculated he would need 980hp to beat the Vette. The 6 speed tow box wasn’t helping him one bit, but I also was running a MT6.

My buddy builds transmissions for Cummins drag/pulling/daily drivers. He has his own truck that he built from front to back. It has had considerable weight reduction, considerable traction enhancements, and pushing over 1000hp. That was a 10 second truck. 5.9 windowed the block, stock bottom end. He is now building a 6.7 sleeved down to a 5.9, built bottom end, all to safely make just a little over 1000hp again. This is a 4x4 truck.

10 second full size trucks are a long and expensive road. Something else will always become the weak link. When there are no more weak links expect to be into the project for between 100k-150k.

Seriously. The only realistic answer here is nitrous. With the original stipulations.

But we will still he only in the 12’s not the 10’s.

Unless we build the bottom end and tune for the nitrous.

Chris' truck is the silver dodge. 1/8 mile.
    6.53 @ 108mph.
Converts roughly to a mid-high 10s pass on the 1/4.

    -slicks.
    -manual valve body.
    -single turbo.
    -lots of fuel.

After this spring the truck will be converted to 4-link and coilover rear. More weight reduction and balancing. And still be lucky to run low 10s.

You are gonna have to find a way to lighten the truck and make it run straight as hell. All the nitrous and boost in the world does you no good if you can't hook it and put it on a diet.

You need to rely on the basics. Force in a lot of air, fuel it immensely and put a lot of spark behind it.

Im not gonna get into the parts side of things because it'll turn into a "know it all" cock swinging contest and not beneficial to you as a builder. You have a long road ahead of you but it can be done. There's a big difference in over the counter 600hp daily and 1000hp track/daily. Keep that in mind. Ask yourself what are you willing to do ( $$$$) to gain the extra 400hp to POSSIBLY get you a 10.99 time slip.

    This truck runs 10.74.
Full build on the other Tundra forum.
Probably the best example of what you would need to do. Fully built lower end, sleeved block. This truck is twin turbo.

To have street legal and Cali Carb friendly, nitrous is about the only answer. I agree with dirty deeds.

And this is 0-100km/h in a freeking lifted Sequoia... Plenty quick for 99% of the driving most people do

Just a S/C, URD pulley and Bully Dog 95 octane tune and "legal" every 2 years when I flash it back to stock TRD tune for smog.
