    Yup, those are the options.

Foolproof way to see if you have an open diff or mechanical LSD is to take off the fill cap on the rear diff and look inside. If you see gears it is an open diff. If you have the mechanical LSD you'll see a metal cylinder instead.

Added a hoist to my bed. It lays flat under the bed rail when not in use and swings out far enough I can lift an outboard motor off the boat without removing the tailgate.0815B344-79C8-4C43-8229-5FB8E6CE6E00.jpg2FF5A906-B066-4CDC-A419-4D1CFB5FD91D.jpg

That's interesting. I haven't had any issue with 75W 90 in my rear diff. It didn't require the additive either. I wonder why R.P is different than Mobile 1.

Fred, my T5's arrived in the mail last night. What was the drill used for?

I'm not too concerned about the cigarette lighter bulb but I'd like to do the ashtray. Haven't decided on the key ring yet but definitively doing the cluster lights this weekend.

04-06 have a true LSD inside the diff...that is why it requires additive when you change the fluid. They didn't start using
    that system till 2nd gens.

Not true, some of the late models do have electronic LSD. It isn't the cool e-locker that the Tacoma got but a brake controlling unit.

Drilled out the green lens cover on the topside of the ash tray bracket. Behind that is the green condom bulb. They really really really liked green on our light design.

I have heard somthing about the 8v tundra has to much torque for the e-locker that Toyota was making at the time.

If you do the instrument cluster, go ahead and do the ignition ring since its right there.

I didn't realize it was accessible the same way. I'm watching some videos now. Do you recall if the light for Drive is a T5 as well?

I ordered those (D and P) from stealership online as an OEM HALOGEN and they came with a base. Expensive, but it was my first time inside the cluster and needed the exact part.

I think the T-5 (might) work there. The head might be too big to fit in the hole. She said.

Just went out and looked, I did not see the LSD sticker on the rear pumpkin. 75w-140 it is!

I would run your VIN at the Toyota Owners website as well...those stickers can fall off...

So here's what that website states. I still can't verify if that just means I have the brake-operated "LSD" or it's a true LSD. I guess I'll have to visually inspect and verify.

It's confusing because Toyota calls it "Auto LSD"...but LSD stands for "limited slip differential" and if you have Auto LSD, you do not have an actual limited slip differential, it's simulated with brakes. The "Auto LSD" was part of the Vehicle Stability Control / Traction Control Package...see the post below.

I believe for all 1st Gen Tundra there was also the option of an actual physical LSD. I don't believe you could have both an actual LSD and VSC/TC/Auto LSD on the later models...at least I can't find that combo taking a quick look through the attached 06 Tundra brochure/order guide...but I would not bet my kids lives on it.

Tundra's have never come with an e-locker of any sort...which is annoying.

See my explanation above...you do not have a true LSD...it's simulated with the VSC system.

    ^ that is true lol

There are a few variations of what was available. I'm gonna write it up in detail later and maybe make it a sticky, this comes up so often.

If you do that, borrow the data in this post...I believe he took it from the 2004 Tundra New Features Guide...or something like that....

WeatherTech Floor liners and Covercraft exact fit Sunshade. If you ever need a sunshade, these are the best...they fold easy and fit perfectly. If you aren't picky about the color, Amazon sells certain colors cheap. When I bought mine the Rose was $14 and Gold was $18 and the other colors were like $55, so I went with gold. The MSRP is $60...which is actually worth it if you ask me...
