    What are you running?
I am currently running a stock transmission with an IPT upgraded valve body. It has been great for the last 80,000 miles, but the truck has over 160k. I contacted some local shops about building my transmission to better handle the S/C power, but nobody wants to touch it. It looks like there are a couple options for fully built transmissions from IPT and Level 10. IPT also offers an upgraded torque converter. I am weighing a few options, what do you guys think?

I've had my IPT Valve Body and Shift Kit for several years now and am well pleased. Truck is mainly stock except for BA 10" Exhaust and TRD CAI. Might want to call John Lombardo and ask him for ideas.

When i had my 2012 dc with the TRD blower, I also looked into upgrading my tranny. It was a short lived search because of the reasons you mentioned, you can modify your stock tq converter, I think somewhere between 2400/2800, this will give you quicker starts or better 60’ft times if your racing. I also stopped looking because of the money involved and around the same time I noticed I had the cam tower leak. Good luck with your search.

I have been talking with John. I really like my IPT VB upgrade. Their transmission is probably really awesome. I really wish i could find someone local in Houston that does what he can do. Right now then cost associated with shipping a transmission here and shipping the core back is killer.

Also curious if anyone knows if a AB60E can be used for a AB60F by simply swapping the tailshaft section?

Doesn’t ipt sell complete transmissions? Or is sending your core in necessary?

Don't know about Transmissions but when I had my Valve body replaced, he said to send the old one back to him, after the new one went in. Call him at 866-828-7267.

I talked to John about the whole thing. If they have one to sell you, then you can pay the core fee. Otherwise it is ship it over and wait for it to return. Freight options are not terrible at about 250 one way and he covers the other. I did not get a ton of detail other than what is on the website (rebuilt with better performing and more friction disks, metallurgical treatments, rebuilt TC, VB upgrades), but he sounds like he knows these transmissions well. He advised against changing the stall on the TC since I am supercharged and the powerband is low in the RPM range. I may bug him later for more detail whenever i get closer to pulling the trigger.

I guess the next question is, has anyone pulled one of these transmissions out? I am a cheap bastard, so I would like to do it myself if reasonable.

The base price is around 5k for the whole thing. I may be eligible for some discounting since i already have the VB upgrade.

Don’t know how far you guys are from philly but my transmission guy spoke with the guys at IPT about they’re racing trans/valve body, and being the IPT wasn’t going to be a option for me he is doing all the same work plus in-house with the trans and the valve body was sent out to have the same mods done and should be all wrapped up for around $3,800-4K on my SC tundra (AB60E/ab60F). If not the guys at IPT are awesome to deal with

Getting closer to pulling the trigger on this. I also have a set of Long tube headers i am going to install. does anyone know if i go ahead and install the Long Tubes now, will i have to remove them when pulling the transmission. I fully expect the LT's to be a pain and only want to do it once

So long story short, we got the transmission pulled out 2 Saturday’s ago. Ready to ship out. IPT sets up all the shipping so we wait and wait. By Wednesday John realized something was wrong on the bill of lading and fixes it. Truck shows up that night, hours after the shop is closed. Thursday and Friday was a no show and no communications from IPT. Called again 4x this morning and no answer. So I’m scrambling and find a link on this site in the classifieds. SDHQ has a fully built level 10 on the shelf a customer backed out on. So yeah, going with level 10 now. Called IPT one more time to tell them to cancel any efforts, and magically he has a built one on the shelf he can send tomorrow. Ughhh. I’ve dealt with John in the past and was pleasant. But the communication breakdown and lack of action forced my hand. Hope this level 10 is as good. Rated for 700hp

Spoke to the guys at level 10. They were really cool. Confirmed I need to keep using WS fluid. Also mentioned I would need to reset my transmission shift adapts which could be done via scan tool. Anybody on here heard of this? My shop said they don’t have a scan tool (they are really just a performance shop for F bodies). Anyone have this procedure or familiar with it?

Got the truck yesterday and now have a built Level 10 transmission in there. Was a nightmare getting the thing shipped here, took 3 weeks. Dont really have a comprehensive review at this point, but the truck drove great in the maiden voyage home. One big difference i noticed between Level 10 and my previous transmission (Stock with IPT Valve Body) is the difference in the shifting. Especially the 1-2. The IPT VB made the 1-2 shift very aggressive and a bit harsh (not good for daily driving). To the point that I had to call John at IPT and he walked me through dialing it down a bit. Was better, but still a little much. The Level 10 shifts really quick through all gears, but the 1-2 is very mild mannered by comparison. It actually seems to shift quicker under hard acceleration, which seems better for daily driving. Still need to make some WOT runs.

Yeah i am curious how the Level 10 is behaving. I am thinking about making the upgrade. Is the cost roughly the same as the IPT?

Been good for the last 4 years. I thought there was an issue recently when the truck got stuck in reverse, but turns out the column shifter bushing disintegrated and fell apart

    Thanks in advance

Look into ZF 8HP swaps. They're easier to control, smoother and handle more power. I think I saw a couple of UZ adapters made for them too.
