Oh this is not me. This is a good friend of mine. He had a rough weekend with two separate hard rolls.

I have (believe it or not) have never been on my lid in my vehicle. A passenger...yes.

I will let Randy and Cotten at Jimmy's 4x4 in Cortez, Colorado know you like the work. I'm not a huge fan of double triangulated rear suspensions.

I'm going back up to Apex tomorrow AM. Going to tackle an ATV trail with my over sized Tundra. I've already walked it a few times during several shroom season's.. There is a unofficial "gatekeeper" where the ATV trail starts. Giant dirt "hump" to keep out what ???? I'll post picks. I know, it will be lame. Long wheel base and all. WTF do I know?

What will suck is that I will have to stop, get out, an pose a pic on a hump, go over the hump, get back in, make a tight turn, get out ,take a pic,, stop in the middle of the tight turn, stop and take a pic, proceed thru a place where my long wheelbase/full size truck should not even be there, and take a pic.. I don't really want to do it, but I will, just to prove a point to show that our trucks can do something like that with a modest lift/suspension. I apologize in advance for lack of big rocks to play on. Where I'm going, most of the ATV trails are dirt/loose rock. I'm done taking crap here for us "average" Joes. heh....heh. All in fun. I'll represent tomorrow. Semper Fi......................Seriously. Like a heart beat. You ask and you shall receive. Hit me with your best shot, fire away.........

You tube??. Not that great...Just a large truck going where it shouldn't fit. It would be a lot easier tomorrow if I wasn't by myself. Where I'm going are some other serious shit ATV trails I that wouldn't even attempt with my Tundra. I'm not totally nuts. You need to see some of the ATV trails there. Some are 60 degree shit climbs that you would know doubt go with your JP and make it.

I have no doubt in my mind. There are some pretty narly trails hidden in CO. Sounds like you have found your own secret ones.

Bad things about pictures is that most times, depending on angle, doesn't show how difficult it is. I struggle with that and my photography skills. I run out of talent after the power button is turned on.

The best trails are the ones you don't know about. The ones that the locals go. May not be a famous pass which CO is known for. I told you I wouldn't steer you wrong about Apex area, 60+ miles of kick ass old mining roads. Yeah, you see a "small rock garden" stretch at times in my pics, but it can get get pretty gnarly, depending what you are trying to do. You need to see this area. Once you do, you will definitely have a good time with your built up "jeep". You will go back again and again. I need a f**king GoPro. Any of us here, whether West coast, middle, East coast, needs to invest in a GoPro when showing off a trail you go to..

We will have to check it out sometime. You spark my interests.

Gypsum, CO is like that. That is by far, the hardest trails in CO, even for my kind of crazy.

Won't hurt to check it out. For sure, a good place to haul ass without too many others in your way. These ATV trails may not be the hardest, but worthy. Plus the views are great.

I'll say this until I'm blue in the face, but I like good scenic trails that take me to awesome places.

I need to get some 42" street compound tires for my Jeep. I miss out on a lot of trail runs due to having race compound tires.

Back. Lots o fun. Apex, CO. There's a lot of Jeep/ ATV trails around Apex. I decided to take one on, mainly to see what my suspension limits are. I found out. Not too bad actually. Factory fake computer controlled LS "diff" sucks. A locker would sure be nice. This ATV/Jeep trail is only a hundred yards from Apex. Maybe less than a dozen buildings left. Some inhabited. Fresh snow above 13K ft.

Walked through first. Hard to tell from the pics but some serious humps every 40ft or so. Put there deliberately. Most likely to keep people out at some point. Although the area is not posted. Stock suspension...no way. Next: I need to find a trail that is chock full of rock obstacles to see how the OME ride is.

1.jpg This trail is narrower than it looks. Especially narrow with full size Tundra.

28.jpg Done. Trail is off to the left. I want to hit the trail that runs up the hill along the power poles sometime. Who needs an ATV when you have a Tundra? Actually I want a ATV.

Matts very own off-roading thread. Nice!

Those humps do look decent sized. Should have taken them with speed.

Easier said than done. I had to stop several times to take these pics and I still need to upgrade the UCA's first. Need to train my dog how to use my camera. I would have liked to be able to go non stop. Now that I've made it thru this stretch, I want to go at it again with new UCA's and GoPro and hit it a little harder. GoPro/Drone would be a better experience to see.

The area is full of similar and much steeper crazy trails. Leave them to the Jeeps/ATVs.

I'm getting too many scratches for my liking, especially on the passenger side. Time to bring out the good stuff. Usually works good. If not.... buffer time. Our paint finish sucks by the way. Most of my scratches are from living spruce/fir tree limbs. Give me a freaking break. (If buying a new Tundra and you off road a lot.......Get White.)
