Wife and I will be leaving kids with grandma and driving up to Washington from Texas - any cool spots we should check out? We’re into nature stuff, especially hot springs if anyone has some favorite spots along the way. One of my all time favorites is Verde Hot Springs just north of Phoenix, but that may be too much detour. I also love conundrum hot springs above Aspen, but the hike in may be a bit much for our trip too. Our ride will be the wife’s 2 wheel drive RAV4

Conundrum is great but you now need an access permit I believe. There's always http://www.indianhotsprings.com/

I’m glad you mentioned that about conundrum- I used to live in Boulder about 10 years ago though so times change. I’ve never been to Indian Hot Springs - thanks for the idea!

If you make it to Bridgeport California there are a few just outside of town. You can then head over the Sonora Pass. Beautiful drive. Drop down to I-5 for a bit and over to the coast. Head north and you'll hit Washington eventually
