Can anybody tell me how I can make the factory "beep" work with my aftermarket remote start/keyless entry. When I lock or unlock with the factory remote I get a beep or beep beep. I want to make my aftermarket keyless entry work with it

Cant, my 2010 with remote start did the same thing.. when you dont use the factory fob, you wont get the beep. Also, you'll notice, that when your lights flash with the aftermarket fob, all the interior lights are flashing as well, instead of just the marker lights like with the factory fob. IMO, best way to get remote start, is with a fob that has one button for remote starting, and does not control your doors or anything.

Thanks for the reply and the info. That's what I was afraid of, I was trying to eliminate having to use 2 remotes. I got this system from a friend for free and it really nice, just hate having to look back and watch the lights flash to make sure its locked

Yeah, ya take the good with the bad I guess. You could always get an OE remote start. They are on Amazon for like $266

I have an aftermarket remote start. It uses the factory "beep" notification which remains selectable through TechStream. The courtesy lights don't flash, but they do turn on when unlocking just like factory. I'm thinking that it has to do with the way it's wired into the factory harness. For as simple a system as mine is, there are quite a few wires. Regrettably, that's about all the help I can provide. I bought my truck third hand and played no part in the install. You might have to seek out a professional installer to determine if you can get it set up as you wish.
