I'm in the market for some new cordless tools. Most of my cordless tools are approaching 10-15 years old and I'd like a pretty versatile set. I have used just about every brand and really like mikita but dont wanna spend mikita money, I'm not a contractor.
I'm leaning towards ridgid because of the lifetime tool and battery deal from home depot. They also have some nice packages at $349.
Can anyone tell me I really should not get ridgid tools? I have several of their corded tools and have had zero issues with them.
    I'm looking for
    Drill
    Driver
Circular saw (I like that ridgid is 7 1/4" vs 5 or 6" like other brands)
    Multitool / oscillating
    Sawzall
Most sets come with light and radio which I dont need or want but cheaper to buy with them included.
Also a few maybe tools like impact gun, router, and angle grinder
Pretty much all those tools can be had around $400 total with 2 batteries or I can skip one or 2 tools and get 2 extra batteries. Then buy the tool later if or when I need it.

HD has a combo set of Ridgid with what you are looking for IIRC and tis sale priced at $369, includes the 4 amp hour batteries as well, Let me double check for you..

The sale you are looking for maybe over, we had it running for a few months. The key there is the sale is sku specific. We actually ran out of the sku for the larger combo kit which got you the 2 free tool option. We were not getting anymore in. We dkd have plenty of the hammer drill/driver kits tho as e stock those daily. The other kit was a special buy.
The link I posted is not the sku that will get you the 2 free tools.

My cordless tools at home are Ridgid. Good bang for the buck for the home jobber. Havent had one fail and home depots warranty on the great in the event something does go wrong

For heavy duty, every day use I prefer Makita then Milwaukee.

I have become a Ridgid fan. I called the authorized Ridgid repair shop in Sacramento and asked about the warranty. He said you MUST register the product online at the Ridgid website for the lifetime warranty. I was told as long as it doesn't look like i deliberately destroyed the item he will replace with brand new...not refurbished. When asked about a battery dying he said he requires the tool and the battery that came with it (to match the numbers on each for the warrant) and would replace with brand new as well. Doing that has been painless, only problem is every other tool i get an email back saying to please attach a picture of the receipt. I'll get a follow up email saying it is covered after a few days.

Don't just take what im saying as gospel. Find your nearest authorized repair place for Ridgid and speak to that person. You have a limited time to warranty the product for the lifetime warranty.

My friend in Anchorage had a custom furniture business using local spruce. Most of his tools were Rigid. Heavy use daily. Heck, I even used them. Was quite impressed.

I have a set of Rigid cordless tools and i love them. Including a Impact, drill, driver, and 2 cordless fans (which are awesome). They work well for around the house and various odd jobs. If you spend the extra money on anything get the 4 or 5 mAH batteries. Yes make sure you register all your tools online at the Rigid website to validate warranty. I havent been disappointed with any of my items and will probably purchase more in the future.

I have several rigid cordless tools in my home shop and haven't had any problems with them. I haven't had to use the warranty yet, so I can't vouch for that part. The cordless trim router is probably my best bang for the buck purchase. And I also like the rigid hybrid fan. You can plug it in or use battery power. That thing goes camping with us whenever we are boondocking and works great.

At work and at home I use all Dewalt tools. Ridgid are great tools. My understanding of lifetime warranty on batteries is that you have to buy the tool set from an authorized dealer. Good luck. D. Dewalt sells refurbished on eBay. Maybe Ridgid does too?

Only Rigid power tool I have owned is their shop vacuums. I have owned several in my plumbing days and never replaced one because they stopped working, but because I put them through hell and eventually they smelled offensive. One did break but that was user error.

    Seems like good stuff.

So home depot doesnt stock the combo of tools I want in stores and they are out of stock online. @RLHOK , do you think or know if they will come back in stock online? I may be forced to buy a combo I dont quite want and buy a circular saw separately which is ok I guess. Just more money than I wanna spend.

I bought my first rigid 18v drill back in 2001. The motor/clutch assembly crapped out about a month ago. Rigid refused my warranty, saying the tool was never registered. But it had to be, as about 5 years ago I got 2 new free batteries from them... under warranty!! I figured it lasted as long as it did, and I now have 5 batteries, might as well buy the "Bare Tool" 18v brushless drill/driver for $70 from the outlet store up in Lancaster PA. Mihght get me another 18 years, I'll be ok with that. I love rigid tools.

all depends, mainly if its a online or store stock item, or active sku, or if its a special by sku, if its active sku then yes it should restock. Special skus are just that, and normally do not re order.

I actually have 2 Milwaukee tools. One is a hammer drill, it is probably 30 years old and I still use it and love it, also a 20 year old sawzall that still works great. Both have been used and abused for their entire lifetime.

Everything came in today. In happy with the tool selection and the price, I'm just under $400 into this set. I scowered for every deal u could find. They all feel pretty good in my hands which is nice. They are heavier than I thought they would be and I think thats a good thing. Tools are all brushless, and have lights which is nice and the drills and oscillating tool have a strong magnet near the base to hold screws or catch falling screws, kind of a cool feature, I got 4 batteries (2 2ah, 2 4ah).
Drill, impact driver, 7 1/2" circular saw, angle grinder/cut off, reciprocating saw with optional oscillating mode, "JobPlus" oscillating tool with a few different heads, trim router, led light, and a charger and some bits and blades. First project is building a work bench then a few odds and ends around the house. Having some decent tools will really help me get stuff done. I haven't really had new tools before, lots of hand me downs and pawn shop stuff if I needed something for a job. Not the best stuff out there I know but I think for what I'll do with them I'll be happy, I hope anyway.

I picked up a dewalt set about a year ago from Lowe's. It came with the drill and impact in 20v with the brushless motor. I later added the sawzall and a jigsaw. So far very pleased with it. Seems to tackle just about whatever I throw at it. Previous drill was an older craftsman and the batteries just kept dying....no comparison to the dewalt.
