I purchased my 2006 Tundra when it was 10 years old with 23,000 miles. I have since put on another 30,000 miles. My repair shop is suggesting a new timing belt because of the age of the vechicle not the mileage, any experience out there? Thanks Rakki

It’s probably fine. Toyota suggests every 90,000 miles. I forget the years they suggest. But it definitely wouldn’t hurt to do it for peace of mind. I like rolling the dice LOL my dumbass would wait till 90,000. Have the water pump and tensioner‘s, thermostat etc. done as well. You can get the parts pretty cheap If you go Aisan.

He's got an 06 so the 4.7 most likely.

Toyota says 90k or 9 years for maintenance on it. I'd have it done for peace of mind.
