Ditto on the go pro. Guess I need to lose the Polaroid.....sheesh. JBerrys video was sick. You can tell with the right suspension it makes all the difference. Can go fast without breaking something. ( actually there are some good sized rocks to avoid on these old mining roads. I'm not going to stop and take a pic every time I see a big freaking rock in my way.)

Hell yeah the video is awesome. Makes me want to get him piss drunk, have him hand over the keys (responsible drunk) and go fast over some whoops.

Hell yeah. I like coming back from a hard day of off-road and have my dinner ready and a cold beer.

    @jberry813 , you're a good cook right? Lollers.

Second picture is the last vertical section up the Chute on Flat Iron Mesa. By far one of my favorite trails of all time. Except Intimidator...fuck that thing so bad! I damn near shit myself going through that...and almost shit myself again spotting @jlee through it.

Sounds like a plan to me!

Macaroni and cheese with cut up weenies coming right up!

That was 15 years ago, sadly I'm not the one with the pictures, so I have no proof. I don't even think I had a camera back then. I sold the truck a couple years ago and the new owner flipped it a couple weeks ago. See if this works: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0ByjUbfJu-LSLNXZ6d3dWS1dadzA/view?usp=drivesdk

Did a little bit of mild wheeling in Wyoming this summer. Went by myself so no great action shots.

That is about what I do with my truck. Great shots of WY. Awesome to just get out and enjoy the open country.

I actually enjoy easier trails (or ice cream runs as some of us call them) were you are not concerned about tearing up a vehicle all the time. Some trails we would limit ourselves to rear wheel drive only and if we felt really like throwing caution in the wind just run front wheel drive (before someone asks, we can do this with a divorced transfer case or something like an Atlas transfer case).

So much bitching in here and not enough pics! Here are the only times I've ever considered myself to be anywhere remotely close to "serious offroading"

What's going on in that last pic? It looks like you just ran over a land mine and had the back end of your truck blown off the ground.

Still looks like you had some fun out there! I am in Northern VA areas well. Let me know if your ever looking to go hit some trails.

How did the Michelin AT 3s do out on the trails? I will be taking my Tundra out on some trails this weekend. So any input on these tires (off-road) would be nice.

See those people standing by? These are ISIS warriors that we're getting mowed over like bowling pins. The US military lets some GIs bring their Toyota trucks into battle since they do the same. Tron did hit a IED, but the sheer brute strength of the Tundra drivetrain took the blast. He did get some paint chipped off the rear axle though.

Just kidding. Looks to me a case of light rear end, heavy front end and plenty of air. I like the ISIS story better.

Funny you should mention that as I'm thinking about hitting some trails in the Harrisonburg area this weekend too. I'm more than down for hitting trails but I'll warn you I am a bit of a pansy when it comes to scratching up my new to me baby or tearing up daily driver but I'm not afraid to hit trails I can fit down. And the stock tires did extremely well considering they are all but worn out. Went up some very steep grades using 4LO and NEVER lost traction. Very impressed with the 4x4 system on this truck. Superior to my old first gen Tundra. Where you off to this weekend?

I've been to Taskers Gap/Peters Mill trail on quads before. It's kinda rocky. And yes, YouTube Flagpole knob. Was down there in February, great trail systems! Definitely requires ground clearance. Harrisonburg has a lot in the way of forest access/fire roads. I'd prefer there over Taskers Gap personally. When you go make sure you pick up the 5 dollar permit per person. If they catch you up there WO it it's a 100 fine. The shell station off exit 279 (off I81) has them.

Thank you for the reminder on the permit! From what i hear the rocks should be anything the tundra cant handle.......right? haha

I think you'll be ok, a guy I know took a Subaru Forrester back that way, don't know if he made it all the way and I know he definitely bottomed out a few times so your tundra should be a ok. It's been a few years since I've been out there so the trail has probably changed but just go nice and slow when your going over the "mountain", it's very rocky but you shouldn't bottom out on anything. Make sure your spare tire is good to go just in case. There are some sharp switchbacks your truck might need to 3 point turn. Once you get past the "mountain" the trail levels out and its a lot smoother. If I recall properly about a mile of the trail is rough. Are you familiar with the traction control button? Turn it off once you hit gravel and make sure it's off in 4x4. Otherwise your truck will cut engine power the moment it senses wheel spin. And take pictures or it didn't happen! :mudding:

Any update on your off road adventure from last weekend? I went to Harrisonburg up flag pole knob and it was TIGHT! I won't be doing that again, tundra is just to big specially if you want to keep your paint in decent shape. I pinstriped the crap out of the poor girl... Wyoming was much more fun, wide open for the most part. And no pictures to boot...:(

    2020 Tundra Limited TRD Off-Road
Had a great time! The Tundra did outstanding! There was not a whole lot of mud or wet anything. just rocks and dry dirt I was truly taken back at how the truck not once lost its footing or ability to climb hills (the stock tires were not ideal for the small/mid size football sized rocks everywhere) . I will post some pics sometime tonight. We will be going back very soon.
