It’s been raining like crazy since Wednesday afternoon, so I can’t get a good pic of how it looks.

I will say the hydrophobic properties are insane. I eat lunch in it most days, so I’ve been sitting there watching and hearing the rain run off. Notice that I said “hear”. It actually sounds like water running out of a gutter. It’s not sticking at all. So much water is running off that it’s loud!
One issue: either he put something on the windshield, or I got reload overspray on it. The windshield wipers are sticking some. I’m going to have to go over it when it’s not raining.

I’m not supposed to wash it for seven days, so you can bet your ass there’ll be some pics incoming Tuesday afternoon!

Man that cart looks really nice. I trust Rag company. I use all of their microfiber towel i.e. the edgeless, window towels, etc.

I don’t think Rag Company even sells them. One of them mentioned getting it for Christmas, having never heard of it.

So I got mine, and used it yesterday. It was very handy when doing wheels. Having the bucket on it gave me a great place to throw the wheel woolies and chemicals into. My regular rolling stool is more manuverable though.

This fall I transferred all my detailing stuff from shelves into plastic bins for easy storage and transport. I ended up moving everything to the basment for the first time

I will definitely let everyone know. I’d planned to apply it this afternoon, but had a horrible day at work. I decided to just come home and chill out tonight.

Quick question, anyone have any recommendations for removing off-road pinstripes from the black area between the front and rear door? Any info would help, thank you!

Guys, as much as I love this ceramic coating, after a few weeks I feel like Beadmaker kept the truck cleaner. This is not a knock on CQuartz. It’s awesome, and does its’s job.

This is obviously not an apples to apples comparison. Beadmaker has to be reapplied frequently, while ceramic coating lasts years. Just an early observation. My truck definitely attracted less dirt with Beadmaker than it does with ceramic.

This isn’t by any means to say that Beadmaker is better than ceramic. It 100% is not. It does make a strong case for topping ceramic with Beadmaker though, which I will do sooner or later.

Washed all three of our Toyotas yesterday. Used Carpro Reset on all three.

Just a wash for the Tundra.

Tried Adams Ceramic Spray Coating on the Sequoia.

Used Meguair’s new Hybrid Ceramic Wax in the red Tundra. It’s getting a lot of buzz. On first application, you spray it on the wet vehicle after rinsing, then dry with it on there. For future applications, it’s used like Hydro2 or Wetcoat. Spray on and rinse off.

Dang Jason!!!! You can't just say "Tried Adams Ceramic Spray Coating on the Sequoia" and leave it at that! Details man! Details.

I hit the Adams tent at Barrett Jackson this weekend and they were out of the ceramic spray. Would have picked up a bottle just to give it a try.

Edit: I see you posted in the Adams thread. Your a good man. :hattip:

Advice for anyone doing this for a living. If you’re using a product that’s relatively inexpensive and super easy to apply, don’t name it in your advertising. I’m sure this guy is charging more than the bottle costs. He’s likely to drive more sales to Solution Finish than he’s generating for himself.

I don't do this for a living, but I pick up some side work here and there. I've always provided the customer with a document that outlines my process, and all the products used. Folks seem to like knowing what was used on their car

Fair enough, and though I don’t do it for money, I always tell people what I use on their vehicles. In this instance though, he’s advertising a specific service and product that’s very easy for anyone to do themselves. I don’t see how it can help his business at all.
First thing I would do is look up the product, so I’d know what I was paying someone to apply. Since this may be one of the easiest detailing projects to do, I would think most would skip him altogether. Maybe I’m wrong. To me that should be part of a package and not a standalone service.

Have to remember, a rather large portion of people would much rather pay someone to do something for them than do it themselves regardless if there product is cheap or not. Same goes for those who would rather take their ride through an auto wash than do it by hand, even if knowingly it causes paint scratches and swirling. You can always put a price on someone's time...

My wife got one of those Cricut things last month, and has steadily been buying more supplies and tools for it since then. Looks like she’s found a way to balance out my detailing purchases.....

I just bought my 2015 SR5 Crewmax a month ago and it has a good bit of swirls and paint defects. It also has some body damage that will be getting fix after the first of the year. With having very little experience would you suggest getting a ceramic coating applied professionally and maintaining, or trying to fix the paint myself? What are the must haves to keep my new baby looking her best?

    True story.

Wife just dropped 4K on a new camera and lens.

I should be good to sneak a few more detailing supplies.
