I tried that. They wont fit. I’m thinking about trimming 1/2” off the bottom.

Any chance you can post a photo of the pop-up front window on your snug top? I heard it is smaller than the drop down window and I want to get an idea of how much smaller or if it will hinder visibility. Thanks!

Here’s a picture of my brothers one. We both have the same snugtop one. Not that much smaller. I guess the story I hear is that Toyota informed snugtop about their crewmax window and so they developed the pop up window specifically for the crewmax so it functions the way it does. Looks large when the window is down and snugtop is opened up.

I have the SuperSport with the sportsman package. Love the shell. I do have concerns the the inside mounting as stated above from other members. The cleats will not fit so now I’m trying to figure out what to use as anchor points on the rails.

Here are photos when my truck was stock and after. The stock pic shows a better view of the shell.

I got the Decked drawers which provide really nice tight down rails so I dont need the cleats anymore. I also added D rings on the rails in case I need them.

    upload_2018-3-31_14-46-28.jpg

    Here are the D-Ring

Recently I found these T-slot Nuts. They should fit the rails so I'm thinking of using them instead of what I have currently to give it a cleaner look.

If you scroll down 4 or 5 pictures on my build you will see a picture of my tie downs. I used the same T slot parts from Amazon as NK 1794. From there I used nylon strap cut and folded to a loop with a grommet to use as a bolt hole to attach to the T slot insert.

For those of you with the SuperSport, is the back of the shell higher than the Tundra roof? It looks to be so, and I'm barely getting my truck in the garage as it is.

No it’s not. It’s leveled. You shouldn’t have any issues.

I've alwys thought the Aero Sport is the best looking cap for our trucks. The online pics don't quite do it justice. Like a dumbass, I moved to the east coast where we can't get them.

I just replied on the other thread about the GB Sport. It was just released at SEMA this year.

Got the Xtra vision on my 2016 crew max with the pop up window and shocks. The build quality for these are pretty meh. Had to take mine back to the dealer so he could make that pop up window even close right.. and the side windows don’t even slide smoothly. Considering I paid over 2,000, I’d probably just get one of those foldable covers that go flush with bed. Live and learn I guess. But I do like the look of it on my truck and I don’t really have complaints regarding leaks during the rainy season.

I've been looking all over for pictures of these toppers for my new '19 crewmax 4x4. My last two Toyotas (2002 4x Tundra and 94 v6 4x) had Snugtop Hiliners and I really like that top. Those extra few inches make it easier on the back if walking around hunched over back there. Unfortunately where I work, parking is limited and the structure I am in has 86" clearance. The truck is 76.2" high per Toyota, which leaves me less than 10 inches, and I am thinking of a rack on top so it looks like I need to look at roof height tops. I like the look of the Xtra. BTW the windows on both my earlier tops were hard to slide so I lightly cleaned and greased (barely) the tracks every once in a while, and right after any off-roading.

Just curious, MGM, if you went with a lock other than the standard one. My last Tundra was broken into while on my driveway and they got in the back, I think, (as they left the rear window locked and lowered down), by twisting the rear window till the lockbar popped out the sides. Hindsight, I think I want two side locks if they offer it...

I went with the standard lock. I have not been broken into yet. I try not to leave anything of real value in the back for a long time for that reason. I like the look too and whenever I see someone with the rebel top with the smaller windows I think it just don’t look right but then I remember how much more the XTRA cost. :anonymous:

I had a quote of $2300 for the Hi-liner, hope the XTRA aint much more. I think I only paid $1200 for the Hi-liner back in '95... And all this time, if you listen to the government, we've had no inflation. Gonna go back to the shop next weekend to get my BedRug and probably order the XTRA. It's only money.

The Hi-Liner is cheaper or on par with the Rebel if I remember correctly. So if you got a quote of $2300 on the Hi-liner then I pray for your wallet when you order the Xtra. That’s why I’m debating selling my Xtra for $2100. I know these things are only getting more and more expensive.

OHHHHHH oouch. I only wanted the poplock and tilt up front window as the standard XTRA already has the nice big sliders. I nixed the roof rack, always got along ok without it for the last 17 years with the last Tundra so.... $2900 yaow. Just had the BedRug installed and it feels mighty nice, and with one of those TruckTent things over the rear window/tailgate, it should work out well at Gila Cliff Dwellings later this year. It's gonna pay for itself in money saved in hotel costs.
