2012 Tundra owner with original Entune head unit.

I have my phone paired via Bluetooth. For some reason, the head unit can stop the audio on the phone from the touchscreen and it stops and restarts the audio when the key is turned off. But I can never start audio from the touchscreen - it must always be started on the phone itself. The screen does show the current song/podcast/whathaveyou and has a play button. Touching it changes the play button to a pause button and it looks like it's starting to play - but in a second or so it just reverts back to the play button.

Is this expected behavior, or can I change some settings or permissions on my phone to enable the screen to start the audio from the touchscreen?

You could always have a Tasker app start your music app once it connects to the trucks Bluetooth.

You are correct and I'm willing to do that if necessary. However I'd like to know if this is how it works by design or if maybe I've denied permissions somewhere along the way and I could fix that. Especially since sometimes I have different audio apps open - music services, podcasts, audiobook player, etc.
