Why did you choose to weld some of the supports away from the frame?

That would not fly in Utah right now - they are cracking down on fenders must cover the tire. Not just the mud flaps but the tire must be inside the fender. At least 5 people I know have been ticketed since Jan 1. Not sure how strict the Cali laws are with that.

Going to have to make some removable fenders then when I move to Utah.

Its a law in Cali also - just wasn't sure how strict they are there. Hell you can't even have a lightbar uncovered or and aftermarket muffler now.

Run it across the windshield (top and bottom) and then you can add your custom slider

Need to finish some side panels on the top scoop of the shell and then find someone to make a net barrier for the remaining large openings on the sides of the shell.

I've also decided recently to mount my winch to the rear of the truck under the flatbed.

You stated your goals, shown below. Were you able to meet all of them?

    Goals:
    - More bedside clearance
    - Shortened bed overhang (ie. more departure angle)
    - Shed weight hopefully
    - Flat auxiliary gas tank (my current one is vertical and holds 45 gallons)
    - Low-profile toolboxes
    - Small flatbed for hauling moderately sized items
    - Spare tire area to accommodate up to a 44" tire
    - Ruggedness; the tubes on the sides will be beefy enough to act as sliders

Oh, oof.. haven't been on here in a long time. Sorry.

So I actually cut the flatbed off and build a new version. Has mostly the same goals but with a better design. I'll post some photos from my phone..

Still a few things to do whenever I can find time to get back on the project:
    - Finish the sides under the bed with more storage to fill in the gaps around the wheel wells.
    - Quad-compressor setup under the bed.
    - Finish the last section of floor toward the back of the bed.
    - Get the floor coated in liner.
    - Figure out a better taillight setup.
