I asked if something could be shorting the system out. They will look today.

When I was in the market for a truck this past spring I was looking at a Certified Pre Owned '17 with 33,000 miles on it but ended up getting my 2018 for only $5000 more. My truck has gone back to the dealer once for the PCS issue. They didn't change any parts just sent me on my way. It is very sensitive to dirt or any crud on the sensor. It generally won't work in heavy rain or snow but that's okay since I would not use the cruise control anyway under those conditions. I can live it the way it is....

Every time you turn the truck off then back on. It's back on. Then you have to turn it off.

Toyota told me they will not disconnect it for liability reasons. I told them if they are not going to fix it then they need to somehow disconnect it giving me my cruise control back. Then give me a big refund for features I paid for that are not working. Waiting for that answer

Pcs light stays on. Radar cruise will not work because pcs is malfunctioning. System is all on in settings. Not first rodeo with it.

jeremy... is your truck lifted? windshield tinted? grill swapped to pro or similar?

can you have somebody walk all 4 corners and ensure each of the bumper sensors trigger a warning?

attached is some shiterature for your enjoyment. sometimes understanding the system can help isolate the offending component vs the system.

ha your 07 has the most natural form of the system. and its you... you get to manually scan listen and feel using all your senses. if one should fail an audible crunch is quickly felt. lol

Haven’t really had a chance to try the radar cruise control. But it’s good up to 110mph, that’s a fast cruise. Since my TSS system is broke the cruise will start then shut down when the PCS sensor fails. Happens a lot so I got frustrated and stop using it. Nothing like cruising along then suddenly slowing down for no reason with cars behind you.

No lift no tint on windshield. What part of this is 3rd time being replaced is hard to understand? It's broken. 3 times inside 9k miles. All documented at dealer and Toyota owners site. Pretty much a shit part that will fail.

You sir should get your replaced. I know your struggle. Lol. Sure you could use the normal cruise, however you paid to use it all.

When I turn it on it says cruise control unavailable because front camera is unavailable. Won’t work at all when my PCS goes out.

I got mine back today. They replaced the sensor for the 4th time and recalibrated the sensor and camera together. This is the new protocol. Usually they just calibrate the replaced part, now the system is calibrated. Will it help? I’m not holding my breath.

you should be able to engage just the cruise control by holding the cruise engage switch. this puts the cruise control in normal mode... (no radar following).

I cant imagine them throwing 4 sets of radars at this issue and having no resolve. either A they dont know how to swap a unit and calibrate system correctly or B they are half assing the install procedures or C you have a wiring issue and they are not checking powers and grounds and the databus signal. they should be able to put that truck on either a dyno or a brake tester or anything with rollers and that radar should come to live and maintain speed. not necessarily the distance as it wont have a target unless they can simulate it with a big box or similar but it at least holds the speed.

This is escalated to corporate. I already filed the buyback paperwork. I just need to hire an attorney. The dealership if following Toyota regional protocol right now. I think I have a short somewhere. He looked but didn’t find anything visible. I told them not to tear apart my electrical wiring or the truck is theirs.

They are doing things fine. The sensor is blowing out. Harness reads it but show the malfunction or clean sensor. And my truck is always spotless. I don’t know if dirt can build up on the inside slightly blocking the radar. Idk they are looking at everything.

I have a case, just haven’t had time to get an attorney. Anyone have a good lemon law attorney in Illinois?

They denied it. They said the PCS issue does not affect the overall use of the truck and does not affect the overall safety of the truck either

then keep making them throw parts at it. read your state lemon laws closely. and quote them to a T after you've hit all the lemon milestones that apply to your case
