I am getting a high pitched faint whistling noise when accelerating. Sounds like it may be coming through air vents. Seems to be worse at highway speeds. Anyone experienced this?

Sort of seems familiar. A couple of times I've heard something I might describe that way, but not all the time.

A little of this and a little of that.
I have a whistle but it sounds more like a turbo. It comes from my CAI. Sorry, I can't tell if I have what you have....

Believe I heard from on here, this is from the screen mesh throttle body gasket

Yes I had the same issue. If you will search around this forum you can find more information about it. If I recall it is the throttle body gasket. I took mine out and cut the mesh out of it, but still had the whistle sound. So I bought a throttle body gasket for the 4.7 I believe and it fixed the problem!

So it wasn't actually a problem, just an annoyance?

If it's just one of those things I can ignore it. I have a tendency to hear those things though and worry about what might be wrong.

Mine isn't super loud when it is there. If I have tunes playing I don't think I'd even hear it.

FYI, they (dealership) even sell the gasket without the screen mesh

Supercharger whine? :D could it be something stuck in one of the exterior vents, debris, leaves or a bunch of pine needles? If not the gasket...

Could it be the ECM hissing/humming? There are a couples thread about it on here.

Same problem here. I recently purchase a 2017 that had a K&N cold air intake and changed out the mesh gasket and it helped, but it still had an annoying high pitch whistle. I put the original air box bak on (came with the truck) and it still makes the noise. I’m thinking it could be the secondary air fan, but not sure of its location. I have about 1,500 miles of warranty left and would love to get this resolved.

Could somebody provide a link to the thread in question, and does anyone have the part number for the mesh-less gasket?

    Thanks!

I have just started noticing this on my 15. It’ sounds very similar to a turbo which I don’t mind at all!!! I kind of like it ha ha. Reminds me of my old duramax. As long as it is not causing me any issues I’m just going to leave it be. Mine is very faint so it’s not annoying

I hear it in my 20 but have gotten used to it and ignore it. Reminds me of when i was 18 and a buddy of mine had a throttle body spacer on his 4.0 Ranger  It's a subtle whistle so no big deal to me.

Thanks, but it turns out the mesh screen is not the cause... still searching for the cause & solution.

The only time I've heard my car whistle was when a gasket had a leak.

I've noticed the same noise on my new 2019 DC. Sounds kind of like a turbo whistle. Seems to run fine and any time the radio is on (which is about 99% of the time) you can't hear it. Kind of like it actually.

How do you know the mesh screen is not your problem? Have you removed it?

Of course I removed it, how would I know if I hadn't?

I went out and removed it right away, and then took it for a test drive.
The whistle remains 40 mph to about 70 mph, coasting and with throttle applied.

    Tastefully enhanced...
Do you have a different intake or have you removed or is the HCF removed prior to owning it? That makes the whistle happen too...

Mine is a very high pitch squeal, similar to a dog whistle. Not pleasant at all. Seems to be right at cruising speeds, between 1500 RPM’s & 2000 RPM’s. Gonna try the mesh wire trick in the next few days and hopefully that’ll stop it. It’s very irritating.
