Any tricks for getting the seatbelt to quickly retract into its home again?

Mine does it so fast that I have chips in my window tint from it smacking against the window.

Spray this on your belt where it contacts the shoulder guide. Fully saturate the belt and operate it through its normal patterns so the product gets on the plastic guide as well. This product reaches its full slip AFTER it dries so do not expect miracles right away. You’ll have to wait till it dries. The Teflon action really spiced my belts back up. I did 3 separate individual soakings of the belt just to make sure.

You can also remove the lower cover where the belt retracts and spray that area. One other thing, if all else fails, trim some plastic off the belt guide as it is very narrow and catches the belt hairs. You shouldn’t have to do it, but its an option.

I never thought about the belt and its friction as the culprit. Always thought it was the take up mechanism. Thank you!!

That doesn't rub off on your shoulder? I'm having the same issue. I saw a non Tundra you tube video of a guy totally removing the belt, washing it, and winding the mechanism a few more times to get it tighter, then reinstalling everything. I think my issue is the winding mech. I pulled out a bunch of belt to bypass the upper belt guide and it still retracts slowly. Driver and passenger.

Do as I stated above. The PB Silicone with Teflon costs about $8. My belts work 95% better. Not like new, but very close. Whats to lose? If all else fails, then go the $uper expen$ive route with new winders.

    No it doesn’t rub off.

Don't spray it right before you strap in. Coat it down at night or something and let it soak in. Depending on how bad it is you'll need to spray it a few times. Let it dry completely and the respray if needed, over the course of a few days. The belt will eventually get enough silicone in it that it snaps right back.

I use the same brand lube, but I would try - "dry lube with Teflon". I use it for a lot of stuff... Probably worth a try on this. Also epic for the inside of a safari land holster/holsters with mole skin type lining.

Just buy a can. I was definitely not disappointed.
