In regards to the lame cup holders in the fold down seat back, anyone found a non cheesy looking way to make the cup holders smaller to keep my coffee cup from rocking back and forth? I was thinking lining it with black foam or something.

I would love to grab a center console just to have one hand. Especially since the swap would be so easy. I like both console options but I prefer my truck's column shifter.

Did you buy a complete new steering column? I'm not a fan of my console shifter and would like to swap over to column shift also. I see the column shift assembly on ebay for about $100, but I didn't know if I can bolt it on or need a complete new column

Write-up! I am interested in seeing someone finally do the conversion. I’d possibly be down to do it after seeing it done.

Looking at doing this exact mod without moving my shifter. Though looking through the parts for sale, they all use stock photos of the console which doesn't look like the full assembly. Is there anywhere to contact the seller and find out exactly what they would be sending me? Also I'm going to assume my vehicle model doesn't matter (sunroof, no sunroof, etc.)? I would imagine the interior would be the same dimensions regardless of package options.

I'm in the same boat. I suppose getting answers may require a telephone call to the parts department.

For me it was bed space.

    For OP

Also, does the DC Tundra have all 4 bolt hole like the CM? I'm looking to put one of the safes in there.

Going to rebump this thread. Does anyone happen to know if you can reroute the DC rear floor AC vents into a crew max center console if one we're to be installed?

I live in the south where it's hot 9 months of the year and would like my rear passengers to be able to position the air on themselves. Also found a deal for a center console with the vents, but don't want to buy it if they wouldn't be functional.

It does. The front screw holes are under the carpet on the DC but they are there.

I’m interested in this conversion to put a switch pros in the shifter spot and keep the column shifter. On the lkq website I have an option for manual or automatic temperature control, which do I need for a double cab sr5?

Does anyone know if the console from an 18 will fit a 19? I have a 2019 and everyone I come across says 2014-2019. I know I need to make sure it has power outlet and air vents on the back but want to make there the 18 will fit the 19 before I try this conversion.

Has anyone actually successfully converted a console shifter back to column shifter? I actually would prefer a column shifter and center console option due to having additional space. I’m just curious if the column shifter can be used with the power tilting and telescope wheel.

I just yanked the middle seat from nine Yesterday and I am going to Fab something for a new console myself.
The factory center console seems like a whole lot of wasted space to me but I can build one that is useful storage which is what I really need.
I think I will buy a lid though from a 2nd or 3rd gen console to have a decent armrest and more finished top.

There was a big connector under the seat on mine with only 2 wires going to it that was not connected to anything at all and there is a box labeled 4x4 that I imagine is the electronic 4wd controller mounted to the floor on a bracket near the rear of that spot but otherwise it is a huge wide open space waiting to be used.

I guess my other question is, do the SR5 models which have the column shifter come with power tilt and telescoping wheel?
