Did you tap into a fuse that is constant or keyed for all your accessories?

Ha no worries, can your lights come on without your keys being turned to on? If so it could be slowly pulling power while off. I don’t know a ton, others here can chime in with some better answers especially regarding those particular lights

No the lights will not turn on without the key in. Obviously the amp steps do, but the lights will not.

About 3 weeks ago I was using the lights at night when the ignition was off and they shit off after about 15 minutes and my battery was dead. So of course I had to jump it off and just figured it was because I let them run too long. Although I didn’t think LED pulled that much power. Jumped the truck off and didn’t think much about it.

Fast forward to this morning when the truck wouldn’t start. Thought it was odd because I hadn’t even been out of the truck for 12 hours when trying to start it this morning. The truck doesn’t ever sit for an extended period of time since it’s my daily...

That’s the extent of my limited knowledge, others on here should have better ideas. My oem battery has been strong for over two years

The LEDs dont pull alot, but 13 do lol. The SP has a low voltage shut off function that will shut the system down when voltage gets too low. Sometimes running the battery down will damage the cells.. sounds like the alternator is trying to charge but the battery is not holding. My concern is who wired up that fuse.. they created an inline fuse, but that should be sealed. Not left open like that. Could be a recipe for disaster. Probably not, but it has potential. Easy fix tho.

Well that’s not what I like to hear. I had a shop do the install as well. I guess that’s what I get for being un-ducated, haha.

I wish I knew anything about electrical and how to fix what’s wrong, but I don’t.

I’ve had the lights and steps installed for about 3 months now, so it sounds kind of odd that the battery would randomly be dead.

That's the thing about electrical... when it decides to take a crap, there's usually no warning.. it just goes.. I doubt it's anything other than that.. just a bad battery. It's rare but not unheard of unfortunately.

I’ve been there a few times. I’m in Chattanooga Tn. Well Rossville but I can throw a rock and hit Chattanooga line. I would say it’s not a bad area. It’s more country. Chattanooga has a lot of shopping and great areas too. But it also has its bad areas.

Unfortunately crossville is one of the few places I haven’t been in Tennessee. The good news is you would be like halfway between 3 decent sized cities (Chattanooga, Nashville, and Knoxville)

Two main areas that I know of are Lake Tansi and Fairfield glades. The glade is mainly Yankees (good or bad I'll leave that to you), and I believe pricier. Lake Tansi seems to be nice, and more reasonably priced. Both have a pretty high average age, as well as golf courses and other standard amenities. As far as Lake Tansi goes the HOA fees are really low, but so are some of the facilities(I wanna say like sub $300/year) I've never heard of crime being an issue in Crossville, but everywhere has it's low spots. As for medical its kinda of a retirement town so there is definitely the market there. Shopping seems adequate to ok from what I can tell (Family there, just not me). Anything major you would be missing could be found in Knoxville about 1hr away. Would make a good day trip kinda thing. If you have more questions I can try to answer them just not totally familiar with the area. Also, my families neighbors like to make the joke that every time you hear an ambulance a house goes up for sale lol!

    Hope that helped -TP
Edit- Chattanooga is about 1.5hrs away and Nashville is at least 2hrs away

Anyone know where I could go to get a BMC? Ideally around franklin area. Little to snug with the new setup

hey brother! welcome!! im a fan of sdhq like everyone said. their quality is outstanding. only complaint youll read on this forum about them is price. but like I said..the quality is worth it. that being said I don't think they offer filler plates for theirs. if your concern is using them or a step, that's not an issue. my daughter does, as do I. theres not a huge gap between the rails to slide in between. but if fill plates are a must, like @Hattori said, all pro makes one, and theres a couple others. let me run a quick search. I think rago might.
