Dont know how many on here own or have owned a VW diesel. If you have you know about these folks. I gave up 45-50mpg diesels after diesel gate but had this heater in all 3 TDI's that I had and can vouch for how well they work.

Anyway... I've noticed that recently lots of TITS pics being posted and can only assume that lots of us wouldn't mind having an engine heating solution that works.

I asked them if they had ever considered a kit for other cars and said that the demand is not there, but I believe that if somebody on here successfully installs a pencil sharpener in their tundra and can set up a group buy lots of members will buy said pencil sharpener.

the folks at frost heater are coming up with a generic kit... and this is a copy paste from his response to my inquiry...

"Unfortunately we don't have a kit developed for other brands, there's just not enough demand. However, we're always looking for alternative solutions though. Having said that we will be releasing a "cold weather kit" for vehicles we do not offer a heater for and/or vehicles not conducive to a coolant heater installation. This cold weather kit will consist of a CSA approved oil pan heater, a battery warmer, and a battery maintainer. This is basically what Northern Canadian folks use in their vehicles. Sure there's no 'instant heat' like with our coolant heaters, but a warm and fully charged battery with warm motor oil makes all the difference in starting in the dead of winter. "

So what do the masses think? is this something that would be worth it to you guys?

It sure beats idling and burning up all that gas just to warm up everyday during the winter.

ED0671DC-B42C-481A-AC49-3AC79B429C89.jpg Tractor supply sells a heater. Goes inline the lower radiator hose. I use them in propane forklifts that stay outside during the winter. Amazon sells them also.

I just plug in my block heater when it drops below -15C, and have heat and defrosted windows in short order. I don’t see the need for a battery maintainer and heating blanket for a gas engine lubed with 0W20. It will start at -40 unaided, but that is cruel IMHO.

In my experience, the dry cartridge heater from Toyota or Temro work just fine.
