I can’t help but notice a bunch of us are running wheels/tires outside the fenders without flares. I’m curious about long term damage to the body. Isn’t this why every 10-year old lifted truck I see has rusted out quarter panels? It seems like gravel/dirt would absolutely sandblast the paint and body, which would lead to early rust.

So, do most people trade trucks in before this happens? Or do they just never leave pavement? Or is it really a non-issue?

But dont let flares fool you they can cause damage also . I take mine off every summer and clean real good under them they trap dirt and stuff. So I think they would eventually do the same maybe not as much but the body can rust under them still .
