Just curious. I discovered a tear in the weatherstripping around the driver's side door of my new Tundra today. It's about an inch in length, near where it looks like the material is fused together on all the other doors.

It has been great, the minimal it has been used.

Minimal issues (cosmetic) and the very few comstetic ones it had were covered under warranty. - weather stripping on door included.

    mine has been pretty garbage.
Got factory spray in bed-liner, online TOYOTA website says spray liner is warrantied.. no fine print etc..
Went to 2 different dealers.(dealer i bought my tundra from is 90 miles away) Both places told me wear and tear product and not covered.. couple folks went through same deal and had there spray in repaired..

Another issue for me was a plastic deformation.. driver side rear left plastic cover mounting area.
2014 Had a tsb .. So I printed that out.. Tried to ask if they can fix.. They tried to charge me. I showed them the TSB and said it wasn't a warranty. After talking to the service manager, he said he will fix that for free..

Just didn't understand what the whole point of the warranty is if I got to haggle with em all the damn time..

I am in the Bay Area.. Fremont and Piercey..

Less than 1000 Miles, I drove over a concete with rebar sticking out slashing the side wall. Blew the tire and threw the alignment. Used Toyota care, they came out and swap the tire with spare (i wanted to see how this worked), the next day I took it to the dealer and they repalced the tire and aligned all under warranty.
    I'd say Toyota warranty FTW!!

I'll say! Often SOL when it comes to a tire puncture like that.

Sounds like your truck is aging with grace. Biggest knock against my Infiniti were the squeaks and rattles, but those were there from day 1 (and were also everybody's only real complaint).

Interesting that the presets didn't get erased after unplugging the battery. Our radios must have some sort of static memory in them?

That or your dealer did the right thing, took down your presets, and reentered them (on the higher end brands - lexus, acura, infiniti, bmw etc - this is usually on their check sheet before and after the do their work)

They were all interior. I am pretty sure they were coming from the a-pillar. Seemed to go away if I pressed my hand against it while driving along. Maybe a loose clip or something underneath the cover? Doesn't matter, not a problem now! :D

Ok question for you guys that brought in for warranty..
I went on some fire trails the other day got back on pavement and starting to feel a little "nudge" in my gas pedal during certain rotations.
Had my wife do a lockout-left and right and heard some noise coming from the steering rack joint under the hood closest to the firewall that connects the steering column(interior) to the steering rack.
    No fluids leaking.
    No resistance.

    Question:
Should I remove all my shims and shackles and put my stock rims/tires back on to try and attempt to get this warrantied?

Or should I take it in as is?

Or should I not bother bc with my past experience and attempt to fix it on my own.

I brought my truck to the dealership to install a 3 inch leveling kit and a few days after, i was driving and it felt like the power steering was giving up. I had to stop in a parking lot because there was no more power steering at all and it was squeaking badly so i called toyota roadside assistance, they towed the truck to the dealership and it turns out that the leveling kit had been improperly installed and it broke the rack and pinion so toyota changed the leveling kit and repaired everything and it was all covered under the warranty. No problem at all with the warranty and i had 5 tundras over the years and it's the only problem i ever had with a tundra.

Also discovered my parking brake won't hold the truck on a hill (i.e. my driveway). that's going to need an adjustment. The tundras have an old skool parking brake cable?

I have posted in this thread in June.

Well this week I received a new front wheel bearing (wasn't the problem) and a new front Differencial. If I would not have had my certified Toyota warranty and wasn't able to do any work myself, my wallet would have been thinner by ~3500.00 at 78k miles.

Now if I would do the work myself, 187.00 for the bushing needed for the front diff and I wouldn't have needed anything for the wheel bearing since I figured it wasn't the problem. However, if it was the problem, 100.00 for bearing, press old one out and press new one in.

my experience with toyota has been pretty awesome. I have a 2004 4runner... i think last year sometime, i received a sticker to place in my owners book that put a warranty on the dash pad as there had been an issue with them cracking. Thought nothing of it at the time as my interior looked great. Low and behold... was driving it the other day and my wife literally saw the crack appear before her eyes - she sheepishly mentioned it to me as she thought it was her fault. Stopped by a Toyota dealer... they took pics of it and confirmed that it would be replaced free of charge. This is on a 12 year old 4runner that's been beaten to hell and back. I'm pretty comfortable working on cars and know my way around them... dash pad replacement isn't a 90 minute job... that's going to be a ballache for someone and they're doing it for free.... on a 12 year old car... whose original warranty expired long ago... that's just nuts.

That right there made me commit to Toyota.

This is an easy adjustment. Takes a few minutes to set right.

I also found out that Toyota batteries are under warrantee for 8 years. Pretty impressed with that.

    Not nearly enough room here!
After 71,000 miles on my 2010,there've been no trips to the dealer for Waranty repairs. Not counting obongo's (UAW Payback) "unintended acceleration" recall. My 2010 still has the Driverside Grab Handle,Lights at the door-bottoms,Amber signals and flashers and Sliding Console. Unless if fails me, where I can't trust it,it ain't goin' anyplace!

Most likely. Adjustment under drivers side by frame.

Canadian much eh? Thanks for the link. Looks like a good little project for when it isn't 102 outside!

But seriously Toyota, how has this been an issue since 2007? I mean, truck rolling down hill with brake on would be considered......unintended acceleration, right?
