    Option 2, that's what i have, and easiest to install with just a tap of the fuse box with the provided fuse and wiring he provides.

    Option 2, which lights up the DRL with the key in the "On" position, and stays on even with headlights on

    I'm a safety inspector for the state of VA, i do whatever the hell i want. Technically you're not supposed to have foglights on unless you have your low beams on, and they're supposed to be off when the high beams are on. Mine is on all the time, yellow is legal, cops don't care about front lights unless they're blue or red.

    Mine are supposed to arrive tomorrow, sans harness. Dang shipper is requiring a signature though. I can't be home the entire day, so I'll have to see how that plays out. If it doesn't work, I may have to see if I can get them to hold them at the whatever and I can collect them the next day.

    Slight apology for going off on a tangent about these headlamps....here goes.

    Because of my being pretty darn stoked to have been able to connect with the delivery chap and accepting a rather large box, my mind can't help but wonder if any aspect of these will work without the harness so that a person could install them and at least have headlights so as to be "technically" legal at night (I suppose that having turns are a good idea as well, and that may be where things begin to get complicated).

    Geek things I've noticed while lovingly caressing my new headlamps on the living room floor:

    -The way the low beam LEDs are oriented horizontally and hit reflectors above and below and are then directed forward.
    -The bright beam LEDs are also horizontal (at the very top of housing), but only use a reflector below and are then directed forward.
    -On the back side of the housing the voltage and wattage for each "light" is listed:

    Obviously all are 12V:
    Low Beam: 20.8W
    High Beam: 14W
    Side Marker: 0.8W
    Daytime Running Light: 16.7W
    Park: 1.2W
    Turn: 13.4W
    Aux: 0.5W/5.7W (I'm not certain which function/light this refers to.

    When i was young, and i needed batteries for my toys, i'd sneak into my sister's room and steal it from her vibrator.
    Damn my setup runs 100w at night, with my DRLs always on bright and low beams and all the lights....

    Two things here....Apparently she wan't making good use of it, which may or may not have been worrisome to your mother; and you were handling your sister's vibrator (suppose it's better than one belonging to a stranger...)?

    it's on my list to do next for sure. Changes the whole front end and you also get LED headlights with proper reflectors.

    Can we just buy the housing conversion setup and use our own bulbs?
