I tried a shorty antenna but immediately returned it. Got terrible reception.

Ordered a new ARE LSX Ultra tonneau. Being painted Super White. Expecting installation in another 4 weeks or so.

Fair enough. It doesn’t help that’s for sure haha. I literally never listen to the radio so it doesn’t affect me which is handy.

Has anyone removed the multi-layer of filter inside the oem air intake that sits on top of the air fillament unit?

What you mean no effect? No noticeable improvement in trottle response?

Yes, simply no effect on a running engine, either good or bad. Didn't, doesn't, won't change a thing in operation. It's only there for emissions requirements in Kalifornia. It's a thin charcoal filter for capturing any fumes of unburned gas in the intake upon engine shutdown.

Removing it is not especially easy, and it's simply not worth the effort.

Same here. I'm just tired of listening to the OEM one whip back and forth when I catch it on a branch

I drive mostly short distance trips to and from work. Like 5 minute trips. From what I've been told it doesn't allow enough time to evaporate the moisture out of the crankcase and the moisture goes to that oil cap. It can also be a sign of a head gasket failure allowing coolant and oil to mix. However I'm not seeing any loss of coolant so I believe I'm fine at this point .

Yeah, that's fine. My daughter has a Beetle, driven 5-10 minutes each way, it has looked like that for years.

It is good practice to change the oil sooner because of this though. I've always heard short trips mean you should change your oil sooner. I've never seen a better example than my oil cap .

Got my passenger door to stop popping when opening/closing thanks to this video:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TxS9ytraxnY

The bolts weren't even finger tight, I thought something got messed up when the previous owner bashed the door.

So this ladder has been installed about two weeks and I noticed a couple of rust spots on the hardware so I treated it with wd40 rust inhibitor.

So if you get one of these make sure you treat it with something

Very nice truck man! I wish I was gifted with height. Im a little verticaly challenged and a 10 to 11 inch lift I would need glider or emergency slide to go down.

Kidding aside very beautiful truck man ! Good job.
