I’m running out of things to post on the Tundra, so this will have to do. Lol

We bought this 2016 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon. While we like the Jeep itself (color, rims, leather, nav), we don’t like the accessories the dealer had added, so modifications will be necessary.

Sharp Jeep. I'm actually looking at either doing a TJ Unlimited build or buying a Can Am X3 XRS Turbo R.

    Bumpers went first.
Loved this one I found and still haven’t seen another Jeep with it.

    Also added gril inserts.

I really like my builds to be unique. No matter what the vehicle.

Interesting bumper. That's definitely one I haven't seen either. Reminded me of this for some reason:

What kind of exploring do you do with your Rubicon? Places gone and going?

Can’t wait to hear the lies:

    “I’m done with this build..”

“I’m never going any bigger than 35’s”

Lol!! Been there a few times.

Since you like custom, PM me if you ever want some custom fab done. I know some people.

The rear bumper I ran across on FB marketplace, and it took nearly a month to identify. It swings open with the rear door instead of independently, has tow points, plus a built in trailer hitch.
    78004B67-8A6E-4635-B82B-103A905270B2.jpg 82DCA482-9FE9-4927-BB3E-8A4A05B0F384.jpg

Unfortunately, it was missing the spare tire mount, so I had to make one.
It needed to support a large spare, center the wheel vertically and horizontally, and mount at a rotation where my center cap was level.

I then sanded everything down, made a cover plate for the top and side, and painted it all flat black.
Here you can also see the rack I installed in the back.

Some online haters said I couldn’t run 38s with no lift, so I got some used ones just to prove I could. Lmao.

Plus, this way I knew my 35s would be no issue.

Obviously I had to change out fenders though.

    I decided I wanted a few lights.
Since I didn’t have $500+ to get the setup I wanted, I jumped online and started searching used. Found the bar I wanted, with 3 of the 5 lights still attached...$70!
Bedlined the scratched up bar and the red/chrome light housings, swapped halogen bulbs for 6000k leds.
It looked naked with only three, so I added some smaller led lights in between them...on brackets I had to make.
Also added a few to the bumper.

Ran the 38s for a couple of weeks, until I found the 35s I wanted. ($750 for the used set of 5 with the nipples still on all of them)

I got a dark gray HiLift jack and made a mount for it on the tire carrier, and painted the tire lettering gray. I think I’m gonna look for a darker gray though.
I also made an extension for the third brake light and installed a Jeep grill insert in it.

We will definitely be coming to Colorado. Trying to figure out the best time of year.
That vid is great! The Rubi isn’t really built for that, but I used to climb a lot with my 2dr. Our area isn’t as picturesque as it is there. Lots of red clay and iron ore rocks. Not cool smooth boulders.

In off-road group, we all have Runicons....sort of. Lol

    Anytime May through October really.

Let me know. We can go hit some trails together.

    Best spots:
    Divide
    Ouray
    Western slope
    Buena Vista
    I-70 corridor
    Blanca

I’m undecided on the clear bedliner. It makes the fenders slightly lighter in color...but it’s done. I may try something different in a few weeks.

I also had to get a new fuel door and then modify it to open the opposite direction so I could still add fuel.

    Here’s everything after a bath.
I think I may try sanding down the fenders with some 3000 and see if I can get them darker. I painted and bedlined the hardtop too, and it turned out fine.

I’m trying to think of what else to do to it. I did so much so quickly.
