Looking at a 14 tundra crew max. Never had a tundra but I know most that have them swear by them. Curious if I’m over paying at 25k for 55-70k miles. Any insight into longevity and durability would be greatly appreciated. Also common problems or things to look out for?
    Thanks,
    Paddy

Ehh it should be decently reliable...you will probably only get about 600-750k miles before you run into a tiny problem that’ll cost $10 to fix

I think most will probably suggest to inspect for the notorious cam tower leak.

I have a '14 CM 4x4...Supercharged since 6,700 miles and now has 65K miles...belt tensioner is the only thing I had to replace. Original brakes still on the truck.

Mine is a Limited and as a general rule, the Tundra's aren't as "pimped" as the domestic trucks. Rather what you are getting with Toyota is a well apportioned vehicle that has unmatched reliability and resale.

Oh the newer Toyotas don't rust like the Domestic trucks...so that could be a downer...;)

Definitely check for the cam tower leak, or even if it's been repaired. Mine was "repaired" and developed another issue that still hasn't been resolved, so just be careful.

Thanks for all the help! One is an sr5 the other is limited. Not big on all the “pimped” features. Less is more with a truck imo. But all the same I’m trying to stay between the 50k and 80k miles on the truck when I purchase. So I’ll look for the cam tower leak/ repair and other than that hopefully it’ll be easy least from there. Cheers!

I wouldn't 100% let the fact that it's had a cam tower repair scare you off, but just know it's had the engine opened up. Drive it kind of hard on the test drive and listen for any weird sounds. Good luck!
