I am in the same boat as you, I keep reseting it and still goes back to 12-12.5 at best!

You guys must have a really heavy foot and drive strictly short distances or tow all the time. There are training aids available to help with gas mileage.........like putting a brick under the pedal:)

My target is to get the less mpg’s I can, I’m trying to burn the hole in the Ozone layer!

But actually I have a lead foot and it’s all city so I have no problem here or I would have bought a Prius ;)

    Hey Metro,

How has the Sequoia been? Mpg, issues etc... it's a year in, honest thoughts?

I'm looking around and think a Sequoia TRD Sport like yours might fit the bill of what I need. Just don't know anyone that has one.

    Thanks!

I’ll chime in here. I have had a White TRD Sport Sequoia for over a year. It’s awesome.

I get as much as 20 MPG in the summer and last moth, I got 18.1 MPG between western mass and Rochester NY.

I love it. I have added Continental terrain Tec AT Tire with no change in MPG.

Adding my thoughts also for @JustcallmeMike , we’ve had our TRD Sport Sequoia for a little over a year and still love it. Only issue we’ve had pop up recently is the rear camera intermittently not working. Need to have them take another look at it. Otherwise, really solid and fun to drive with the front and rear sway bars and trd suspension. It’s a different ride than my tundra and a fun alternative to take up to the mountains.

Another thing we love are the captains chairs in the second row WITHOUT the center console between them. I think only the TRD Sport offers this but maybe you can get a platinum or limited with captains but no console. Really nice to have that aisleway for kids and dogs.

Other things you’ll miss are features Toyota left off that trim just because they are Toyota and don’t want to give you everything in TRD package — example, no power liftgate on the TRD Sport. We’ve learned to live with it like the manual climate control and no auto headlights or parking sensors on my TRD Pro.

    Overall, we still love it

Showed my wife a white Sequndra like this the other day and she suggested I do it to her Sequoia. Until I explained she’d lose out on her cool 2018 led headlights and have to use the tundra ones.

I don't know if the power lift gate could be fit by the shade tree mechanic, but the other two would be ones that I'd definitely take a serious look in to .

I had a 2011Sequoia Platinum before this and about the only thing I do miss is the folding mirrors inside the truck..having said that, I have the upgrade to leather and I do have auto headlights / auto high beams as well as auto 3 zone climate control. I do not have and I guess I do miss the auto lift gate...but not to the tune of $7-10k more.

By far the best car I’ve owned...I love that thing I don’t think I’ll ever get rid of it...I have no problem averaging 17-17.5 in it. Matter of fact I like it so much I bought my wife an 18 platinum back in sept! Her on the other hand with 90% city driving with traffic only gets about 15.5mpg

Oh, I'd want the mirrors too, I guess I'm getting spoiled by my mods. :D

I really like the way the Sequoia TRD Sport looks but I can't stand the fact that it only comes with the 26 gallon tank!

    really? Didn't figure that.

Is there any aftermarket tanks that are larger? Or auxiliary tanks that can be added without too much hassle?

@Metro14536 are you still running the stock tires on your TRD Sport Sequoia? Going to swap ours out for some KO2s and was curious if anyone has thrown on some different sizes to get an idea. Sticking with the TRD Sport Wheels so am looking at a few options that can run on an 8" wide wheel.

Close to it, had it about 13 months and around 23k last look. The miles rack up quickly with it being the daily Uber for the kids and using it for some longer trips. We plan to grab something smaller to slow it down a bit.

My wife bought a 2017 Sequoia back in June of that year. I had my 2006 Tundra at the time. After driving her fantastic Sequoia it inspired me to get a new Tundra, a 2018. So now we have one of each in the garage and my daughter has the '06 (and loves it).

I’ve got a 2017 platinum I’m running with 275/65 on a 20x9 with 25mm offset. I only had rubbing on full lock in reverse on the driver’s side, removed the front mud flap and rubbing was gone. Everything I read said I couldn’t fit a 275/65/20 without a lift, but no issues for me.

Stock? It gets a little less...I could get around 17.5 in my tundra and I get around 16-16.5 with the sequoia

You can get 17.5 in your tundra!? When mine was stock I got lucky if I hit 16 ha. So I guess it’s pretty similar then.

I bought my wife a new 17 4Runner Limited about 2 years ago. Went into the dealer for 5k ToyotaCare on the Tundra and they had a black TRD Sport. She has been talking about it ever since......

I told her to let's wait and see what the TRD Pros look like and pricing and give it another year to see if there is a refresh of significance. We are planning on a 21 model year the day they hit the showroom floor. The Sequoiahs are sweet and ride amazing!!!!
