This is the first white vehicle I have owned. I love how it hides the dirt but I want the mirror finish I get with my jeep which is red. Anyone know a good wax to use for said results on a white paint job.

I have NXT and it is good. If you don't mind spending a " little" more, try Surf City Garage Products based out of Huntington Beach, CA. Premium stuff. Currently my favorite brand. Pricey though. http://surfcitygarage.com/

When I'm getting the Chevelle show ready, I use Eagle Nanowax. Spray on, wipe off. Works great.used it on the tundra for the first time today. Looks great.

Dude, you live around Memphis, I've got to ask you....why in holy hell cant my truck keep it's nice, clean look for a New York minute around here?????
In BR, my truck would look brand spanking new for at least a week, now, it's only a DAY before it looks like it needs a wash AND a wax again!!

Yep, need to do my wife's too. But gonna have to get it done midday. Too cold in the am and pm!!

I hear that about dedication, same was ingrained over here, but never with washing a vehicle in winter (and I'm from the south!!) LOL

Every 6 months I clay bar my truck then I use Meguires Ultimate polish. Then apply Meguires Ultimate paste wax which is super easy to apply, lasts a long time and available in a lot of places.
Then after every was I do a Meguires quick spray wax to keep the wax built up. The spray wax takes 15min.

So I talked to a friend of mine who has multiple super cars that he pays to have professionally cared for. Says his preferred car care product line is Swissvax. I Googled them today. An entry level cleaning kit with no soap or wax costs $200. Bottle of soap is $60 and a can of wax costs $329!!!! Has anyone here tried this stuff? Seems crazy to me.

Oh man that low pressure on the water heater could mean you have sediment buildup. Keep an eye on that. My water heater has the same pressure as any of my outside hoses.

I live in Lake Tahoe California and we have lows in the teens and minus temperatures all the time in the winter. We've already had a few days in the teens this winter.

My method is pretty close to yours with the buckets I just keep the hose with nozzle on it handy. I've been doing it this way since I moved here in '99 when my neighbor showed me without any issues.

I couldn't imagine washing my vehicles or toys without having the hot water handy, I'm too puss lol. I applaud you sir.

During the spring and summer, pollen is insane here. Other than that, our roads are super shitty so anytime it rains, all that garbage on the road will get on your truck. Also, plant life in general. Memphis is an extremely wooded city. when I lived in midtown i wouldnt even bother washing my truck. Sap and shit was everywhere all the time.

I noticed that within the first day I came here. I'm in midtown near Overton square, decided to just park on the street since my parking spot in the back has nothing but trees. Rock and a hard place that's for sure!

Unbelievably, hot water does freeze faster than cold water. It's called the Mpemba effect. I didn't believe it so I filled one side of an ice cube tray with hot and one side with cold water and the hot water did freeze first.

It sure does. I've made it snow a few times with the water heater early seasons before we got snow to make small snow skate setups.

So I've got an all black tundra and tiny ass scratches are going to be the death of me, is there a great wax out there for this? I'm looking for that deep black or wet finish.

I'll go out and give it a shot. I'm regretting the black more and more because of swirls and small scratches.

I lived in the Gilmore for a little over a year, that whole parking lot would get your truck filthy. If you could even find a spot to fit into.

Been seriously considering it. got a quote just to paint the truck matte black and it was $8k. and uhhh screw that noise. I thought about wrapping it but that would be atleast 3k. I figure if I'm going to give up waxing and polishing, i might as well make it permanent and with Kevlar
