After a few weeks of looking at what floor liners to go with, I decided on husky weatherbeaters since they provided the most total coverage. I received them today and at first glance, i’m not real impressed. The decal was already loose on one of the floor mats and plus there are all these little dots all over both floor mats. Is that normal? I had a set of Westin wade floor mats and they were smooth all over. Kinda poor craftsmanship in my opinion but maybe this is normal

I returned two sets of the X-act series with full coverage for the rear. They were sent out doubled up in a box and never went back to its mold shape although sitting in a hot truck. Since I like the fronts I settled in getting the normal X-act and I am happy. I was very unimpressed the way they ship them out though. Full coverage mats for the rear should be really be shipping out laid in a long box and not doubled up. For $200 that they are selling for, Husky can afford a tall box. Something tells me also that they are boxed ASAP without giving the product time to cure into its shape and maybe it is still warm as they are packing it.

Just wait till they get dirt on them. You’ll be really uptight when that happens.

    Yes and no.
I would say return them and get Husky X-act Contours. They are well made and don't have the little dots.
That being said; this is what they look like new:

And this is what they look like a few weeks later - any little imperfections will not be noticeable anymore.

I have noticed that for some reason the front and rear mats are not made the same (quality, fitment, thickness etc.) Not sure why they would do that. My fronts are fitting perfect and are nice and thick and looks durable. The rears seems to be a lot thinner and therefor does not fit that well. It's still doing the job though. And, it straightened out pretty good after being shipped doubled up in a box.

I cut them up anyway to install the ESP tray.

They are not going anywhere now, and serves it's purpose.

A long afternoon and a pair of tweezers and you could pluck most if not all of those floormat pimples.

I noticed the same thing. These aren't cheap and looking like they came I returned two pairs. I just replaced with the same style rear mats that the 1794 came in, which doesn't cover all but it is also thicker I believe than the full coverage mats.

Do the X-Act contour mats have the little spikes on the bottom of them in the area that lays on top of the plastic trim in the door ? Just wondering what the plastic underneath would look like if they do after some time? That’s the only part of the Husky mats I’m not fully sold on is that they extend and lay on the plastic there.

There is no problem with that, in fact, it needs to go over the trim to keep debris from falling through onto the carpet. It lays flat (no spikes in that part). As you can see in my photos I work mine hard - I go to muddy construction sites, and they hold up great. These are a year old and gets vacuumed and cleaned about once a month, sometimes 2 months.

Those pimples are air escape ports in the molding tool used to make them. As the hot material (rubber, plastic, etc) flows though the tool, these holes in the tool allow the air to escape. The number of these holes required depends on how thin the final product is and how viscous the hot material is. Thicker mats have less of these ports and the resultant pimples form the ports that they do have are usually less likely to be seen because they’re in less noticeable locations (on rib edges, etc.).
If the pimples bother you, I’d return them and get something different. Personally, I wouldn’t worry about them because they’re floor mats and the pimples will wear away in time.
