How much noise comes from these cooling fans? Having never seen these Supernovas in person, or any other headlight LED for that matter, I am curious.

With the truck running, you cannot hear the LED fans. With the truck off, if I turn on the headlights, I can hear the fans, but it's not like a drone overhead or anything like that.

Shipping got delayed, so I won’t have them until tomorrow. But tomorrow night I should have pictures!

Install took 15 minutes. I got the most trouble from removing the dust cover from the stock bulbs. Had to pry them off. Other than that everything was a breeze.
Not an expert on it but those are the drivers. They power the bulbs.

Now to impatiently wait till the sun goes down.

I’d like to see the cut off line at 25’ back from a wall. Possible to show a pic of that? Thats the best indicator of how a lamp is working properly. A nice clean bright horizontal cut off line shining on a wall or garage door at 25’.

Why did I bust out laughing when I saw @Professional Hand Model like a post which had a hand (and a very nice hand at that) showing off the headlight bulbs? Maybe I need to slow down on the drinking.

Alright guys here’s the verdict. I’m not to impressed.
They have a good distinct cutoff but that’s about all I’m happy with. The bulbs throw light far and full but it just seems like it’s a dim light. I don’t know how to explain it. Of course the iphones camera is trash at night so these pictures aren’t very good.

The photo in front of the garage is about 15 feet. I can’t get a full 25 here at the apartment.

I might call and see what’s up. Because honestly the stock halogens are brighter than these

Well shit, I haven't gotten mine yet. Wondering if I should return them now and buy 19 Pro headlights. They really underwhelm that bad huh...? What a bummer:(

I would install them so you can see for yourself. Just keep the packaging and all in case you want to return them. Maybe I was just expecting a lot more out of them. They really talk them up on their website with the pictures and videos.

I am starting to feel HR is more talk then show. Well in this case. Thinking of returning the bulbs and throwing down for 19 Pro headlights and harness. Keep us updated on what HR says. Mine don't arrive till Tuesday.

This will be my first time returning something that was shipped to me. So far it’s already seeming like a PITA. With HR you have to request and explain why to be able to return, get approved, and then mail it in.

Seems crazy the stock halogen bulb is brighter. I knew it was too good to be true. You going to request another set of bulbs or return all together?

    Return all together.

Id day install them and see what you think. Maybe I’m just not used to such a white/blue light.
The LEDs throw more light and are more full. The color of it just makes it seem dim and really drowns out anything green like grass and trees I noticed. Makes sense since it’s more of a blue light.

They just don’t perform like I’d expect 160 dollar light bulbs to perform.

Well, thanks for the honest review. I’ll be sticking with my Sylvania Silverstar Ultras Halogens for $40 a set. They are a brighter white than the stock halogen. Drawback is the reviews say that they do not last as long due the filaments being a tighter coil that makes the whiter light.

I’d keep the LEDs on for a few more nights to see them in a variety of looks. Sometimes switching over to something new takes a while to adapt. These Supernovas can be turned 180°? Did you try the best angle for your reflector by turning?

You can try the Auxbeam NF-S1. I put them in my headlights and fog lights and I'm very happy with them. The beam pattern is exactly like stock halogen. Very inexpensive and easy to return if you're not happy with them. I had tried some other led bulbs prior to these and wasn't happy and returned them because the beam pattern wasn't good.

I honestly think it doesn't look too bad but I don't see it in person. Maybe your expectations were just too high because of the amount of money you spent on them. I think HR prices are too high. I get they may put a lot of testing into what they sell but they only seem to sell a few select brands.

You may want to check to see that you have them clocked correctly.
Mine are a HUGE difference in the factory bulbs, and the Sylvania Silverstar Ultras Halogens had in before the Supers.
No complaints in mine so far.
Did you watch the Headlight Revolution video on how to install them? They have to be clocked correctly.

When you say clocked correctly the bulb has to be vertical right?

Correct, but also the correct side is up. There is a shroud on the lower half of part of the bulb that needs to be oriented correctly.

I have mine clocked down, so it forces the light up into the small dome inside the headlight. With the the 3-tab housing, one tab is at the 12 o'clock position, the other two roughly 4 and 8 o'clock. The shroud is at the 6 o'clock position.

I wonder if the housing for your TRD Pro is different than the one in my Limited. Same year it appears from your sig.

The bulbs are clocked correctly. I’m happy with the beam pattern. They just aren’t bright at all.
