    I've got a 2000 Tundra 4.7 rear wheel drive SR-5 Extended Cab; at 270,000 miles what should I anticipate to wear out.
    I bought the truck in 2005 with 50,000 miles that replaced my Tacoma with 3000,000.
    I do the regular maintenance religiously not much has gone wrong with it I'll list the items so as not to double up on replacements.

    (oil, filters,plugs, belts, pads etc. done in regular maintenance)

    * 2 of 8 coil/wires
    * transmission cooler
    * A/C compressor
    * rear drums and front disks
    * just now replacing master brake cylinder

    It drives great! going down the highway at 90 mph it's smooth as can be. I do a lot of driving and I'm wondering if it's time to replace with a newer model.
    I don't really want to get in a new vehicle (it's become a friend) as you can see so far it's been nearly drama free.

    So what wears out on these things?

    Curse you Perry the Platypus!
    If its still running good, keep it. These are great trucks and with the redesign coming up in 1-2 years (rumored), you better off waiting and see what Toyota does.

    Keep that truck, and keep doing what you have been doing. I bought a newer model a little over a year ago, and I kept my good friend the 2002 RCLB. 2nd generation Tundra are great, but 1st generation Tundra trucks are awesome.

    These are redicously reliable trucks. I think anything that breaks for you will be due to age. I would definitely replace the radiator if you haven't already. Aside from that I would just be prepared to replace other items as needed like starter, alternator, etc. I would definitely keep the truck.

    The radiator in my '02 failed due to age last September, that's the only true failure since I purchased the truck in '03.

    I had a 2006 4.7 AC (Access Cab) that I sold to my daughter with 225,000 miles on it. I bought it new and it drove like new when my daughter picked it up. I religiously followed the maintenance schedule and had no issues whatsoever, never used oil and I never had to replace anything (except the normal, brakes, spark plugs, etc.). I would have it today except the 2018 Tundra caught my eye (+ I got a recent inheritance that paid for it) and the rest is history.
