Good evening Tundra folks, I need some advice on adding a ladder rack on my 2014 Tundra. I am looking for suggestions on installing a rack to primarily haul a kayak. I have seen several on line but most will not work on my truck. The ones that do are $600+. I want something that doesn't require drilling to install. I'm just not ready to drill any holes in my relatively new truck. If anyone has suggestions I would appreciate you advice. Thanks

Honestly, I would invest in a hitch bed extender. Works great for kayaks (depending on how many. I only haul one)

Something like this might be a cheaper option.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. One important thing I forgot to mention was I pull a travel trailer so the hitch bar extender won't work for me. It looks like I may have to fork out some $$$$ if I want something that I can easily remove but I am not giving up just yet.

Not really that cheap though since you add a front hitch mount.

Hmm, if you pull a travel trailer every time you go kayaking, why not mount some cheap rails on the trailer and tie off your kayak on that?
If it's not everytime, get the hitch mount and alternate accordingly?

Scotsilva, thanks for posting the pictures of the rack mounted in a Tundra. That was very helpful. I think that's what I will order. Everyone that posted a response, THANK YOU. Its nice to have a place to get advice from people that have experience in a paticular topic. Thanks to all.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. Installed mine today. Very pleased! Ordered the rack from Amazon and the mounts from API. 20160813_141200.jpg 20160813_141216.jpg

Nice! I starting lol kin into racks that could go onto the deck rail system instead of screwing down. Which API clamps did u use? I'd like to set it up like you did.

    I bought this one.

AC110ULP4-TU- $25.75 (mill finish), AC110ULBP4-TU - $25.92 (black finish). Shipping usually runs $6-$8 depending on your location

I ended up putting two on each mount (8 total) for extra stability. 4 would probably be ok I just like to over do stuff. Hauled my kayak about 3 hours on the interstate this weekend worked perfectly. Sent
