Anyone use one of these to clean gun parts? I figure if stuff is really dirty I’ll have to use brushes, but if I use it after every range session it would reduce the amount of time and get to some places a brush can’t 4B630FB1-D3A4-4EF1-A5A8-D941C3C71F71.jpg

I have seen few pictures of BCG for an AR that they screwed up the finish though.

In for answers. We had a high dollar industrial one at my old worksite and it worked great but I don't work there anymore. I'd like to know how the affordable models perform for heavily fouled parts and maybe brass prep too.

They clean fuel injectors with these sonic cleaners.

The absolute best brass prep is with a stainless steel media tumbler.

I’m running my 17 slide and barrel through it now at 15 minutes, I will let you know

Update: after the 15 minute soak, visible carbon was in the solution. I “cleaned” this gun after it’s last range session, so I am happy with the result that it could clean more than I could with just brushes and picks.

I'll second this. The brass comes out cleaner than when you first take them out of the box. It's a little tedious getting all the pins out after tumbling, but well worth the effort.

I’ve run most of my slides and barrels through with the recommended Horandy gun cleaner, I’m amazed at what came off my “clean” guns

    I’ll third this.
I did ultrasonic for match, and media for high volume prior to the stainless tumblers - and never will again clean brass in ultrasonic or media. Pain in the ass for what you get.
Once the Frankford Stainless tumbler for brass came out, I was on it and never looked back. $200.00 - and be done with the mess for ever.
BUT - for parts, I reccomend the sonic cleaner. I picked up a cheap Harbor Freight one - has worked for years.
