UPDATED with pics. Went with no top coat.

Day pics but the high sun with this “winter sunlight” doesn’t do it justice. I am very happy with the outcome. Before and after pics.

    .

    ++++++++++++

i had some samples sprayed and I am down to two choices.

The powder coating is called “Chrome Bronze” from Prism Powders. It’s a dark Bronze with slight metallic flake to give it a chrome darker deeper look.

The one on the left is no top coat. Although, it’s recommended to put a top coat on metallic powders, I think it would be fine.

The one on the right is matte-like finish with a Casper top coat. This gives the finish a slight texture like a 1000 grit sand paper. It also slightly darkens the bronze. Downside to this is it might be tough to keep clean.

There is a third option with a high gloss clear top coat which is the wheel in the last bottom pic. Though I am thinking it might be too bling-bling on a truck but it’s dark enough to not be too over bearing.

BTW, center caps are staying flat black since they are plastic and this is going on a super white 2019 CM Platinum with all the chrome deleted.

Video of high gloss coat on a white Lexus in bright day light.

IMO if you want a bronze look, go with the sample on the left, looks closest to bronze. The wheel with a high gloss looks more gold and blingy. Depends what fits what you like..

These are my Method Con 6 in bronze...

I was thinking the same thing. The matte- makes it look really dark. In some angles it looks almost black.

Also the pictures are taken with an iPhone. Damn iOS always brightens all colors, so the colors are actually slightly darker. I can’t turn this off on my iphone.

How durable will that powder coating be?? Wheels being wheels, likelihood of scratches and dings are high...

Pretty durable. The guys uses these powders to coat valve covers, truck frames, transfer cases, transmission cases on race cars. But not sure how they will fair on a full on off-road mudding expedition which I dont plan on doing. This is why it’s on a factory wheel and suspension for now.

I just wanted to be different and not have the same Storm Trooper look like on most white tundras.

Bronze will look good on a white Tundra.
Take the pic of my Method or from their site, have them match that - if thats the look you are going for....

I’m a fan of the Casper look.

Dark bronze will set you apart from the majority that’s for sure!

Exactly why I ordered my Method roosts in bronze. Everybody and their mom has black wheels nowadays!

Not as blingy cuz of the style of the spokes being thin...if it was my Con6 i dont think i wouldve gotten it, not looking for gloss...

Yeah. I think black wheels on truck are played out. Just like bronze wheels are in the import tuner world. LOL

    They look great!

Just not the look I was going for personally. Sucks that your setup (I’m guessing 20’s) we’re phased out!

There’re a few on here running bronze. I think it’s catching on in the trucking world!
Hell, I’ll most likely be the trendsetter down here in BR. We’re a little slow on the trend uptake here......eh.

I think I can say I will be the first to have bronze factory TSS wheels. I like these newer 2018+ TSS wheels compared to the older ones. I like the convex look with no lip.

No level/lift. From my extensive research on this forum site, it’s the tallest tire size I can run without trimming or removing mud flaps. I am trusting the info on here. Diameter is like 32.9”

Got you. Sounds like you’re good to go!

And THANK YOU for being one of the few that does their research and utilizes the search button beforehand! LOL

Tiresize.com is where I go to find out diameter AND tire weight.
Great resource when looking for tires!

Of course! I love forums! Much better for info than Facebook pages or groups. I’ve been using and on car forums since 2000. Been using the same username ever since on multiple car forums. LOL.

I need a new set of rims after I did a number on my one of my rims. I was thinking of 20" Bronze Method Roost on my white DC. I realize that it's being phased out but I can get a really good deal on them. I have to go with 20's cause I just mounted new Falken Wildpeak 275/60/20's. From the ones I saw listed they look super bright but I have seen a few pics of ther roost's mounted and the look like a matted bronze. Did they make 2 different bronze tones or just the one?20181227_173335.jpg 20181229_135546.jpg
