What have you done to your 2.5 gen Tundra today?

I kinda like that as well...never seen that before!

 

I was bored as hell today, and got tired of hearing the leather of my driver seat rub against the plastic seat housing, so I just used some female velcro/sticky back to soften her up. Might do this everywhere that leather meets plastic...

 

Thanks Bro! $20 for the hood bulge and $60 for the hood at the local sign shop here. Cheap add ons, for sure! 3M vinyl should hold up for a few years.

 

It's probably the difference between painted metal vs painted plastic. Very common in our trucks. Like others mentioned only way to get perfect match is take it to get painted. From your pics it looks great though.

I got some LED licence plate bolt lights off Amazon. I think u got 4 of them for under $10

 

De-badged. Was going to badge with black emblems but think I like this look. Thoughts?

Had a little extra time today and installed some @Baja Designs fog lights, super easy install. Just don’t let go of the blue clip that holds in the housing

 

Installed mine Christmas day. No little blue clip I keep hearing about. Makes me wonder now. ....

While I was doing my earlier projects I pulled off my cupholder trim and platinum center console badge to repaint them black. I used black trim a few months back but ended up with some chips and chrome showing through.
I went with krylon peel coat in gloss black this time, hoping itll be more forgiving than the paint. Put on about 6 coats over the last few hours. Its drying in the basement now and I'll reinstall tomorrow and post some pics.

 

I read somewhere they added the blue clips on 2016 and after, I broke the driver side one when removing the old light. Nothing a zip tie couldn't fix!

 

I'm trying to remember now if I had the blue clips on my 17... I took the whole bumper off though since I was replacing the end caps. I guess that's not much help .

Pudge, were the chips from banging cups and stuff against it? I did about 5 coats of plastidip on mine and haven't had any problems for about 6 months.

 

Yeah the chips in the paint were likely from my coffee mugs and tumblers. And the occasional tossing of keys, my work badge, and who knows what else. The paint looked good but I think the plastidip is the way to go, softer and flexible. I think you did it right the first time, and I learned my lesson. I'm sure paint would be fine IF the pieces were properly prepped.

 

Holy shit dude. How did I miss this earlier. I was so excited about my cupholder, I skipped right over this. Congrats man this is bad ass, and somehow makes your truck even cooler.

They are brighter than you need. I wrapped mine with electric tape and cut a small hole. You could add a resistor, which is probably the better way to go

 

I did my cup holder a year ago. Starting to shine a little now, but not terrible. Need to pull it when the shifter housing comes off.
