This headunit is very glitchy , isn’t it ? Or is all that shit worked out now??

 

Someone else will have to answer that question.... I'm still waiting and considering whether I should buy this or not.

Dammit!! If Phoenix, I believe if you send them a deposit, they’ll ship one out before waiting to receive yours.

I know a lot of people don’t do any trimming and luck out.

 

Not sure how to answer this as it still comes with no instructions so the odd headache can arise from install to figuring out why something doesn’t work the way you want, which for the most part are all easy fixes.

What I can tell you is that there are a few really techy Tundra owners who have these on Facebook that’ll help you sort out any difficult problems, and lots others chime in right away if it’s something common. It’s a lot more responsive there.

Since I bought mine, there’s been a firmware update, a spreadsheet made to describe what all the advanced system settings do, new themes, a simple tweak for those having mic issues etc. The knowledge base has evolved a lot and there’s not much that can’t be solved if that’s what you mean by “worked out”. If I had to guess, most installl, like and keep them without issue. Someone here with a 2018/19 Tundra might say what’s not working as the mating might be slightly different.

 

Can anyone confirm that the video out works with out a separate dvd player like the 1st model? Like to use apps to play movies on my headrest tvs.

I like the unit, but I would like to see more reviews on the system before I make a decision.

 

What is the rca output on this head unit? Gen 3
Does it have front and rear or is it just left and right?

 

Does any of the GEN2 owners know a always on wire on the back of the phoenix radio to tap into? Trying to hook up a USB 3.0 quick charge I got for Xmas.

It might of already been stated but were you able to download movies to a USB to play from netflix? I've tried many different ways and no dice.

 

Hey guys here is my screen set up for the Android gen 2 fastboot with buttons. So far so good. I love it. This is with car launcher pro, leather theme black, and stealth icon pack. Played with the app icons a bit. But it's a cool launcher to play with, lots of options.

So if you don't have dual control AC, does this give it to ya?

 

No. It'll have a setting to show dual controls if it's set to HI, but it won't adjust separately.

 

Mine is perfect. No glitches what so ever. I returned my first unit that I received because of touch screen issue. But since I've gotten this one, it's been smooth

 

There is something you have to do behind the dash to add dual zones. It takes more than just adding the dash piece but looks fairly simple. I've read at least one or two threads on how to do it. Not sure if after the mod if this HU will work with it though.

How is the sounds quality when playing music off your phone via bluetooth or usb? There was a guy on one of the facebook group's for this headunit saying his sound quality sucks when streaming via bluetooth or playing off anything connected via usb.

How are your internet speeds when using your phone as a hotspot?

Bluetooth is clear with no lag.
Hotspot is fast enough to stream movies with no buffering.

Frank I did spend a little time trying to get a signal out of my unit ( 2 gen with buttons/dials) but had no luck. When I do get some more time I will explore a little more.

Still debating on getting in on the group buy. Hmm so tempting. Really hate the radio in my pro
