I see you guys talking about the difference between the 5 1/2 and the 6 1/2 foot beds with the crew cab. Screw all of that! I won’t drive a truck without an 8 foot bed and I need a truck that will hold full grown men in the back. The double cab seems to me to be nothing more than an extended cab which will hold a little bit more stuff, not full-grown men. I won’t be able to buy a Toyota until I can get a crew cab and an 8 foot bed together. Correct me if I’m wrong but this is not available yet.

Have you sat in the back of a double cab or is this an assumption?

If you're looking for the "CrewMax" with an 8' bed then you're not buying a Toyota. The "Double Cab" which is also a "crew cab" being that it has 4 doors that all open the same way, then you do have an option getting a double cab long bed.

I work with some big boys and haven't had any complaints when my double cab is maxed out headed to lunch everyday. Prefer to fill it with women though

I like buying 12' plywood sheets. Guess I'm not gettin a Tundra w/12ft bed.

I guess you won't like what I drive then, a 2 door with a short bed. I prefer to cruise around with just me and my GF, not a bunch of dudes in the back, whatever floats your boat though.

Toyota does not make a truck with a heavy enough frame to carry the overall weight and wheelbase of a crew cab with eight foot bed. A heavier truck means less comfortable suspension and longer wheelbase means a much wider turning radius and more difficult to park as well as driving like a bigger truck. A half ton truck is simply too light for a full crew cab plus eight foot bed and still be able to carry a heavy payload.

I could ride in the back of a double cab but sure would not want to for long and i damn sure would not expect full grown men (lol) to ride back there and not complain. The front seats arent even comfortable. Toyota could gain a couple inches in the back if the sloppy seats were not so thick. I did not buy the tundra for comfort or looks and luckily i dont have to transport full grown men. Nothing wrong with buying whatever suits your needs the best.

I liked the bigger cab space with the Crewmax so I purchased one of these for my construction company. Works great. Have never had a problem with a 5.5 bed.

Well, I'm 6'2" 215lb and fit in my dad's DC just fine. Also, the dodge ram megacab doesnt even have an 8' bed. Ive seen very few trucks actually have full rear doors and an 8' bed. And I live in Texas. Also, OP is a fag.
