been having pretty intense tooth pain in a upper right molar
    Dentist appointment today
    Went in at 1
    Left at 2 with a 3pm appointment
Came in at 3, left at 8pm

One molar pulled that was cracked in half to the root
    Temperary bridge installed
Go back in 6 weeks for a scan then get the perminate bridge installed

Overall was a good experience with no pain
I was on nitrous for 4 hours and am numbed up to where I can’t feel my right eye or side of my nose lol

Bummer. Could've done w/o the pic tho. One of my molars broke a few years back and I ended out having them put in a titanium stud and make a fake tooth. Was totally worth the money and hassle. If you can swing it I'd nut up and do it.

Ow, I feel it brother. I only have four teeth on the bottom right now. Nine or ten extractions followed by 5 implants installed, two took. Temporary dentures suck. Come February I'll have four teeth installed on the front, two implants on the left side and a bone graft on the right side at the same time. Followed by more teeth on the left and another implant on the right. And then some teeth on the right. In two years and $20K I'll be good as new. I get valium before the appointments, gas during, and vicoden after. I finally figured out that ditching the dentist for 10+ years because dentists suck is a bad health care decision.

Interesting stuff though. One time while he was working on me, changing bits often, I asked if he was step drilling my jaw, he said yeah. I then asked if he was going to tap it next, he said yeah. I said that's very mechanical and he said there's some biology too. I looked at one of the implants that came out under magnification. It's pretty much a heli coil. The outside threads into your jawbone and the inside accepts the post that the new tooth sits on, I think they use Loctite to hold it in. And he has a miniature electronic torque wrench. The implants are torqued to 50 newton-centimeters. I had to do the conversion, 4.4 inch-pounds.

I'd kill a man to be able to eat a steak right now, it's been a while since I could chew one.

Looks like a bad break. Don't think you're getting any money from the tooth fairy with that damaged tooth.

My son is in his third year of dental school, and delights in showing pics of some dental work that is much worse. As a student, you must be prepared for anything that is thrown at you. As a previous post mentioned, there is quite the degree of mechanical aptitude involved in dentistry. There is also alot of new technology in that profession nowadays too. Much less painful to the patient than 40 to 50 years ago.
It is truly amazing how they can work in such a tight confined area, and have you fixed up so quickly!

I went to dental school. It took me six months to realize that it was not for me, and I switched to engineering. It can be an interesting and rewarding career though, but I am glad I made the switch.

That’s pretty good after all that. You know what they say though, “No sense, no feeling!” :D

Well, enough sense to buy a Tundra.
