Guys I am lookin to make the Tundra a little more personalized to me. I took the running boards off yesterday. I didn’t like the factory boards. I like the chrome wheels and the bumper caps. I guess I’m one of the few. I’m saving for a bed cover but that doesn’t really count. I’ve always had grill guards on my pickups but my truck won’t fit in the garage with one on it so I decided not to get one until I get a bigger place.

Anywho, what are some cheap mods that make a huge difference and some that just look good?

    Here’s my truck

Take the badges off. Costs nothing, but time.

What’s the best way to go about that? And are the stickers a butt to take off? Not a fan of the TSS sticker

I read using a hair dryer then some goo gone works well

    Welcome!

Two of the cheapest mod's I've done so are are the Driver Side OSB (grip handle) and shorter antenna.

Other cheap mods for functionality are center console organizer/tray.

If you want to some chrome mirror caps/door handles I should have some here soon to match your chrome wheels/bumper caps. You can also probably find them in the market place here as well as craigslist.

TRD Pro suspension, powder coated bumpers, wheels, tires, lowered, coated, list keeps going.
Heat up with hair dryer, take fishing line and slide back and fourth behind the badge.

Be sure to pull away from paint so there is little line to paint contact. Then goo gone the residue

Yes, IMO. Paint the badges all one color and then you can't see what it says. So I kept the contrast of chrome and black. I like my badges and bed stickers :anonymous:

A heat gun and a plastic pry tool works well. Fingernails work as well, but its sometimes hard on them. Be careful not to put pressure or marks in the paint. Try to keep the adhesive on the emblem. WD-40 works good for remaining residue.

I wish I could seed a truck like mine with chrome wheels and black badges. Any of y’all got it that way?

I’ve got Camo floor mats so there’s another one I’ve done

My bumper caps are vinyl wrapped. In the MGM picture thread, I think I have posted what exact one I went with.

Looks good. I'd leave emblems alone. Looks good with the rest of the chrome. Or take off and leave off completely.

But if you do plasty dip them it's rather simple, and some have left on the truck and plasty dip them after prepping really well. And if you don't like it will peel right off.

No, not when you pay someone else to do it. :)

The running boards are Go Rhino Rb20, I’d recommend those as well.

My favorite mod so far that I would consider cheap based on the dramatic difference it made for my daily driving experience is the Tacoma leather steering wheel swap. $110 dollars shipped.

I love these inserts best, but if you’re keeping chrome, they come in chrome too.

It costs nothing to wire your console power port to constant power so you can charge things in your console when it’s off.
