The power steering reservoir has a secondary cap screen cover that should pull out to allow the baster to get down in there? Memory serves correctly?

Where is the rust? Load it up with grease now that the FF is penetrating. You can spry the rusted area with PB BLAST to penetrate. Then slather the area with moly lith. I built a grease dam/seal in and. around my cross member ends where they attach to c-channel. Then, occasionally stick a straw with PB blast into the goo and it just sits inside that area where salts want to do their damage.

The FF makes your frame look new eh? You wipe it? Or, leave the snot shots on?

Hmm, I didn't notice any secondary screen but you may be right. Either way, the end of my turkey baster was way too big to fit. I'll have to find a smaller one.

The rust is in a few places but the worst is at the very back of the frame up near the driver tail light. I'll take your advice and get that done. It's a damn shame Toyota went cheap on the frames. Other than that, the worst rust is on the brackets that the U Bolts connect to for the leaf springs. Those are in rough shape.

I didn't wipe the FF. It went on a little thicker than I would have liked but I agree it sure does look nice.

Anybody know why Toyota put the clear.plastic peices in the rear fenders? And had anyone had any luck removing them over a decade later? Mines all yellow and cracked and looks ugly af.

Pics? Not sure what clear pieces you are discussing. They’ll probably crack unless you heat them up a bit or its a warm day.

I think I know what you're talking about. I believe it was for protection from rocks etc. Unfortunately, all the ones I've seen look horrible. I agree with PHM than you could probably take a hair drying to them and remove that way but be careful.

Oh. Ok. Now I know the clear plastic stickers that you are discussing. My fenders were black and never had them. The Limited did though. Goof Off adhesive remover. Hair dryer. Combo it up. Acetone if you are painting the whole fender over.

I saw @Brown Bear driving home today and that truck is a beast! Didn’t recognize him or the truck till I was passing him. Your truck is much higher in person than what your pics portray. Once I’m lifted we need to run some trails.

Wish I could get some of those clear side markers like yours. Mine have the orange plastic. The clear looks good.

My theory is that the clears were factory recalled. Only the South East vehicles were sold with these. Can’t find any for sale the do not have orange.

I like the orange. That's my buddy's 01 with the clears. Mines in the back. Do they no longer make clear.corners for our trucks or what?

You’re fine as long as the bulbs light up amber.

If you run amber bulbs there shouldn't be a problem.

Not permissible in my State. Need orange/amber lens in front to show true width of vehicle.

Clear lens are permissible only if LED and 50% of diode burns all the time.

hell yeah. I'm down to go hit some trails. Your truck is looking really good with all your new front end lighting. I really like your new Baja's in the fog light position. I've been wanting to do something similar.

I’ll need to figure a way to wire these of my DTR’s if its going to happen. I’ll do a dry run on my existing first before buying.

Will I suffer from LED hyper blink on these front side marker bulbs conversion? If so, I am sticking with the orange lens.

Thanks bud. It’s nice being able to see in the mornings on 49. The fog lights were very easy to mount up. Just get the bezels, drill 4 holes in them and use a 2.5” bolt and washer.

It's definitely on my list of things to do. Next for me is a one piece drive shaft. I have an appointment on the 3rd to get one made.

I think I'm getting back to my truck tomorrow, busted ribs be damned. I think I can get most of it back together and I have a very Huckleberry plan to get the torque on the harder bolts. I have buddy at work who always brags about his "big guns" and he doesn't know much about cars but wants to learn. Might do the old "bet ya can't get this to 150ftlbs" line and sucker him in.

For those not following I have a busted rib and can hardly push myself off the couch.
