So I am reading post after post and lots of videos on reviews of AT tires and one thing I notice is not alot of info or detailed review of how a particular tire held up in rain? Some do give a little info and maybe I just miss it with A.D.D lol. Reason for asking is Im torn between ridge Grappler, duratrac , and toyo open country AT2 and curious which of the 3 handle the best in rain and flooding?

I love my Cooper's in the rain. And we get lots of it. Average 89" a year

I don't recommend the Toyo's. I ran them on my 4runner and they were very slippery on concrete entrance/exit ramps. I finally removed them and replaced them with something else. The new tires bite much better. The Toyo's would not bite well in a sharp turn over 30mpg, the 4runner would slide sideways.

BFG T/A KO2s are famous for their weak performance in the rain, though I have no direct experience with them. You want tires with good siping if you’re seeing a lot of rain. Most A/T tires have very little.

I have ridge grapplers and have had no issue with them in the rain.

Where the F do you live!? I’m in the PNW where I swear it rains 24/7 and we get half that LOL!

Rain Tires: Goodyear Duratracs, hands down. Even snow rated.
We’re going on our 4th set for my wife’s rig. She drives rain/snow and isn’t a pussy, and the Duratracs deliver.
    Pictures are worth 1000 words
Notice 3X the amount of factory siping?

I prefer the look of the SST though.
Duratracs are lasting us 50K miles.
Don’t even notice wear for 2 years/30K LOL!

I don’t have much experience with extensive off-road and this tire (Duratracs). We live down a shorter gravel road but other than that her rig is mainly pavement.

Does the SST get good mileage?
The Trail Grapplers on the Tundra are wearing rather quickly. Wasn’t aware they were so damn heavy and I’ll be switching it up after these are toast.

I just know from working in the bush with them. Duratracs are a very soft compound tire, giving them their snowflake rating. They stay supple in freezing tempuratures- therefore wearing out quicker than other a/t tires

I had duratracs on my 2001 4Runner and loved them. They worked great when I was at college and we got around 13 inchs of snow in a day. Another 4WD vehicle and I were the only ones able to get around our college town. They lasted me around 4 years, and that was about 70000 miles. Had bought a new pair before they even were bad enough to change out. They did great in the rain and only killed about 1mpg

Shelter cove CA I use 4x4 daily. I haul and tow often. The road I commute on is truly unbelievablely horrible. I only get a year out of any tire I’ve had and that is the norm out here.

These, Colorado has little rain but when it does rain the roads get slippery due to build up, these tires work great on snow and ice too due to the siping.

I can confirm with my own personal experience having run them on various different vehicles that they do, in fact, perform poorly on wet surfaces compared to other tires. They also suck in the mud, even when aired down. They look good, have good tread life, usually stay inflated with a nail sticking out of it and perform decently in the sand when aired diwn, though. But yeah, they had a tendency to slide and spin a bit in the rain, though.

As for the other tires mentioned by the OP, the only other one I have experience with is the Duratrac, which I ran in a 1st gen Tacoma almost 10 years ago. They were decent and performed OK in the rain, but it’s important to understand that most AT treads aren’t going to perform as well in the rain as a dedicated street/highway tire.
