Anyone notice there TRD Pro suspension get real stiff when the temp drops below 10 degrees, or is it just me?

Lowest temps so far in my area a few times it’s been in the lower 20s haven’t noticed anything. I will pay mind to this now and post up when it gets colder.

I will be interested to hear when your temperature really drops. I don't notice it till under 10, seems to get real stiff. But not a lot of things like work when it get close to single digits. I have started saving for Kings, was going ADS but for what I do Kings might be the better choice.

How does your feel when it's below zero? Mine felt a bit stiff at -16 the other week.

Mine really doesn't. It creaks a little in the cold but my pro suspension feels spongy and fluffy all of the time. Including -30.

Okay I might be overthinking things, maybe looking for an excuse to buy a set of kings. I will play with tire pressure now.

I don’t think it’s just you. Mine is noticeably firmer below freezing. But I don’t think it’s just the Pro suspension either. Every vehicle I’ve owned has been ‘stiffer’ in the cold. At least until driven awhile.

Think about it. Oil viscosity becomes much thicker when it’s cold out. Put some 0- 20 in it LOL

Kings/ads cant go wrong, it has been mentioned on this forum that the king coils can sag overtime. Also in this forum people say how plush and smooth the ride is.

Same here, even when I had Icon coilovers they were stiff till driven for a bit. Cold makes the oil seem thicker. Even the other day I was putting bar oil that has been sitting outside in my chainsaw and it was like gel coming out.

I would assume ADS coils don’t have a habit of sagging? I like the thought of a plush ride with kings. Then stiffen up when heading off road. I hear ADS not quite as smooth on road. But shine once on dirt. Those who have ADS am I wrong? Torn between the two.

Its probably the spring rate between Kings and ADS - Kings come with a 600lb spring and ADS 700lb spring. Depending on how much lift is cranked out of them that would affect how it feels on the road and dirt. I also believe King is conservative on valving where ADS might be a bit more aggressive.

Ohh and temp would directly affect the viscosity of the oil inside the shock

That makes sense, you could then put a 600 lbs spring on a ADS and be close. Or have ADS valve suspension a bit softer.
Yeah beginning to realize it the oil in shocks thinking up and giving a firmer ride.

It's only gotten down to ~40 degrees here in Phoenix since I installed my Pro Suspension. Mine doesn't seem stiff at all (at least compared to the stock Yellow Bilsteins that were removed). Doubtful I'll see anything near 10 degrees.

My new KO2s rode harder when it’s cold
Pro suspension is the same as when it’s warm

I think tires will have more affect than anything imo.

I thought my Pro suspension felt stiffer when it got colder too but I figured I was being crazy. Glad to know I’m not the only one that thought or noticed that
