I am going to put katzkin leather seats in. I’d like to wrap or recover the center console to somewhat match. Anyone done this? Suggestions?

Seen a few options on eBay for a leather center cover. I do have the Katzkins in my Tundra..they were already installed when I purchased the truck. Was looking for one that matches which I found...but ya ebay.

Katzkin does not include that cover in their kit, but Alea Leather does. The factory match design kits are the same price from either company.

Will the alea cover match the katzkin?

Close, but not exact. Each company has their own graining, color shades, stitching color/spacing, etc. they are both very good, but do have subtle differences.

This one matches texture and black stitching of the katzkins, but is microfiber leather.
So not real, but looks and feels real...and is waterproof and easier to clean.

I installed katzkins, but left the console because it’s a fishing truck and stock is easiest to clean. But the listing has a close up of texture and stitching, and looks to match better than any others I found.

Most likely just remove the old one, take plastics off, remove old cover, slide on new cover, replace plastics, cut holes for hinges, reinstall.

I read somewhere using fabric glue and a steamer to pull out the wrinkles. The sellers instructions were for a different item.

I did mine back in Feburary last year. Things to note. The stock vinyl has to come off. Don’t try to cheat and say you can go back to stock. Does not work. That’s what caused a lot of adhesive buildup I couldn’t remove. There is a foam under just the top part. Don’t use spray adhesive anywhere that’ll stick to it. Only use it on the sides and edges. This is a picture of my first one that I butchered and had to redo. Apparently I don’t have a pic of the second run which came out much better.

Oh man i just ordered one with red stitching to replace my stock one that has a little tear in it. I am hoping that the install will go ok. I might just pay a local upholstery shop to install...

When the stock one comes off, is the padding attached to the oem vinyl or is it attached to the lid? Just wondering if I need to find new foam to put under the new one. Getting ready to order one of these.

It’s attached to the lid. I would honestly recommend having a local shop cover it. I’m no expert but I think the fitment is off on these eBay covers. I tried it twice and i couldn’t get it to fit correctly in the center portion of the lid, and on the front corners.

Old thread I know, but I just got done installing(well.. The front seats, rear will be done next weekend) Alea leather premium seat replacements and they are super comfortable! Can't wait to get the rears done. Anyways... Seen a video on ebay this morning by hotrodupholstery-com and this guy hand makes leather center console replacement covers for 14+ tundras. So I pulled the trigger, will report back upon receiving and installing. The price is good just about 85 shipped. Hopefully it comes quickly.
