Hi everybody. So we traded in our '15 Chevy Traverse LTZ and got a new '19 Sienna SE Premium AWD. I never thought I'd like a mini-van but I am very stoked about owning my first Toyota. They treated us very well, and we needed a mini van with AWD. I was so impressed with the dealer, and the brand that I am considering a crew cab Tundra at the end of '19, or end of '20.

I test drove a '19 4WD crew cab Tundra 1794 with the TRD dual exhaust. I absolutely had a ball, and I like how the Tundras drive like the old trucks. I loved the exhaust, but felt the steering was very numb and unresponsive.

    I have a few questions...

1.) Is the TRD Pro Sport option going to make that much difference in the way this truck handles and feels in corners? I understand it's not a WRX, but more feedback from the steering wheel would be nice.

2.) Does the TRD Sport come with a limited slip rear end? If I do end up going offroading (light), I don't want to kick myself for not getting the TRD Pro Offroad.

2.) Can the TRD exhaust be added by the dealer on if I bought a Tundra to any of the crew cab 4x4 trucks? From what I undertand all 5.7 Tundras have true dual exhaust, and have shorty headers.

3.) Is the redesign of the Tundra going to be in 2020 or 2021?

Thank you all and it's great to be here.

    Jay

    Welcome

    1) haven’t drive it, but doubtful. Just an overall package IIRC

2)We need a true locker in these trucks

    3) Yes or anyone somewhat mechanically inclined really

    4) Rumors only.

You have two number 2's. but to answer the second number 2, Forget TRD and check out Dirty Deeds Exhaust.

Do you have a picture of what their dual exit setup looks like? Or video clip? How is the loudness compare to TRD?

So I’m basically paying for the hood scoop and fancy shift knob?

Also what I meant was do all Tundra come with the brake actuated Limited
Slip, or it that an option?

Welcome! They all come with break actuated. Surprisingly.....it works pretty good for getting through snow and lite wheeling but, you could always add a true locker down the road

Trd sport is much more the hood scoop. the shocks and sway bars make a ton better than a tundra with out them. The handling is great with the sport !

That's good to know that they ALL come with the "quasi" limited slip. Yes, I would say for someone doing hardcore offroading it's disappointing it doesn't come with a locker, especially in the TRD Off-Road edition.

As far as the TRD Sport package, I love the way it looks, and should fit me better since it will be on the street most of the time, and off road in the deep snow, or on a mud road a small percentage. If I ever wanted to make it more off-road capable I could add some AT tires.

My goal is to get a TRD Sport with the TRD dual exhaust, running boards, nav, leather, and hopefully sunroof. Not sure if they come in that configuration.

I've also been considering a '16-'18 Chevy Silverado LTZ with the 6.2l Vette engine. I know Tundra will be more reliable down the road, but any other reason why I should choose Tundra over the other truck?

Bump... any compelling arguments for getting a Tundra over a Silverado 6.2 LTZ?

    To much to list:)
Just traded the 13 TSS and bought a 19 TRD Sport had most everything on there including 20s and the ride is amazing compared to the TSS. Yes any dealer or someone with a good back can and all the TRD upgrades you would care to have. Tundra CrewMax are by far just that much better than any out there for a gas engine vehicle. That is just my opinion. Got mad at Chevy one day many years back and drove down the street to Toyota and have not looked back since.
